Yeah, my apartment was built in the 60s and was originally a very fashionable pad for a rich playboy type. Apparently it had a built-in bar and everything. (But not a proper kitchen - still need to get an oven!) It's been subdivided into my apartment and an office where the other bedrooms used to be, so now I have a disproportionately large living room. With a green marble fireplace and a green marble fishpond. Indoors. The landlady says she used to grow flowers in it...

Sounds lovely. Any chance you can turn the pond into a hot tub?

Bit shallow for that, unfortunately - it's less than a foot deep, but about 10 feet long. Right in front of the window. I've just covered it with boards for the moment, to store my camping gear inside and use it as a window seat, but maybe we can do a Create competition to come up with something more interesting

The weather seems to be improving, thanks.

Glad to hear it! We seem to have less rain upstream, too - yesterday, the Danube was brown, today it's green again. So hopefully that's a good sign.

Exactly. It looks more like the grey-green greasy Limpopo River all set about with fever-trees.

We need to get Willem to paint it, then.
