If I had a hammer

Huhu (as we say at work)
Sure. You're welcome to that. It might amuse somebody, and there's nothing the UG could possibly want it for, other than target practice.

Thanks.
Target practice? I thought the AWW was a nice place, unlike PR? (it's not my opinion, I love PR). I used to be scared of the AWW, though.

We are awful - we hold everybody to high standards. (And I wouldn't have it any other way.)
But we're fun about it - at least, I hope so. It's tricky to keep each other on our toes while not stifling creativity.
I try for comic relief on occasion.

If I had known that all the people I'm so scared of never show their faces in the AWW anyway, but that it's nice and encouraging people like you, mvp and Tibley doing all the hard work, I might have been more active there.
Holding everybody to high standards is the right thing, imo. There are often pieces on the FP which don't do anything for me, or which I don't understand, or both, but I happily accept that they are probably of high standard.

Or, as I say, that's why there's vanilla and chocolate.
I'm at work now, so I'd better go answer some German emails. You have a good evening!

I woke up but am better now.
Hope you had a few funny emails to reply to.
I've talked with Rich, and he's delighted by my choice.
Shall we just take it off here, or would you prefer to send it in? Can't tell yet when we'll publish it, so there's no rush.

Sorry you were ill, hope it gets better.
The emails got funnier and funnier, no lie...
Just take the essay off here, whenever you like.

I'm much better now, thanks. I managed to keep the bit I ate and drank and I'm even hungry now, so there's hope.
What are the emails about (in general), or can't you tell here?

I can't really tell - just business, and problems that happen in the games.
One letter started: 'I apologise most sincerely for calling Player X a 'Son of a *****', and went on from there...
Lots of liquids.

That sounds funny. Was the player at risk of being banned then?

Do you know how many times I have to hear 'He hit me first'?
It's like being the playground monitor on a virtual playground.

I guess that's because it *is* a virtual playground.
I wonder just how people can take such things this seriously, but I know from my husband that they can. I had my husband yelling at me on the phone only last night because I had difficulties navigating his character through a very crowded, unknown to me, town.

It's about like taking hootoo seriously. After all, it's a community.
I was enjoying a party last night.

No, that's the office party tomorrow night.
This one had flashing lights (provided by me) and music (provided by a volunteer deejay), dancing (from a computer script), and witty conversation (on a chatline, provided by nice Germans).
A nice way to enjoy one another's company in midwinter, and the deejay takes requests.
