Speaking of life's role coming first, I have been a bit preoccupied of late with my working situation which hasn't been plain sailing though things are OK for now (in the short term).

As for "Those gone before", February was hard as the first of my siblings to go was sent off to the unknown, an old friend and workmate also went the same month. Both will be missed but my brother most keenly.
I suppose that is the penalty we pay for getting older and outliving those others that form part of our life's timeline.
It's one of those funny (quirky) things of the human psyche (well mine anyway) is that I could never envisage myself as living past 30 and even now that I am well past that figure I only realise how old I am when I have reminders shoved in my face.smiley - winkeye

My health is fine so I have no complaints there and the rest of the family are good thanks for asking.

How are things with yourself?

Cripes Prof, what a journey you, your son and the rest of your family have endured the last couple of years.
Your son has my utmost admiration for his strength of character and I am glad to see he is very much on the mend.
It was fascinating reading, reading your thread and it took me back somewhat as I used to deliver spinal, airloss and kinetic (rotational) beds to various hospitals around the South East.

Yeah, that head job you did on the telegraph pole was a close one!
Of course, it's part of the territory for some of us that as we journey through life we have close calls with death.
I can think of two occasions that seemed a little too close for me.
The first was having appendicitis at the tender age of 15, I ended up having two ops and wasn't very well because of it.
The second was when a lorry took a dislike to my car and hit the drivers door at a right angle. The whole drivers side was crushed in to half its normal size, the steering wheel and dash were pushed through the screen, the car ended up sitting on a pub car park wall but I suppose the lucky bit was that the impact forced the drivers seat (my seat) across to the left.
I have had numerous incidents that have caused injury but (other than the two above) none that have been life threatening though how I'm still walking fit and able to earn a crust is beyond me smiley - huh
