I sometimes go around the place just to stretch my legs and to stop the cabin fever, we have a remote control thingy that we take with us if we are away from main area. I have put on about a stone since I strarted here so maybe I should do more patrols!

how many are there with you

I am not sure I can say "stone" anymore I do hope The EU weight police are not monitoring us.

Just me mate it's a good job I enjoy my own company, I used to be a signalman on the railway many years ago so it no hardship, we used to do crosswords over the phone in those days just to pass the time.

I still ask fr stuff in lb's sod em!

used to have a couple of mates who were on the signals in the 70's(against rules as you know)talked on am cb radio often

Acording to the rule book I remember in certain situations it was against the rule to breathe, which could sometimes prove inconveniant.

I left when the signalbox I worked at closed down and the only post on offer was Leeds city station box, which had 6 signalmen sat at a huge consol with a inspector sitting behind, not my idea of fun after being used to being the boss of myself.

my mates were in the Cas' area, down Methley

I remember Methley Junction box, I used to be at Wakefield road at Stourton which are all closed down now, the last I heard Leeds City box was closed as well and everything is controled from York but don't quote me on that.

Well my extra heavy belly is telling me it wants filling again so I am going to sign off and cook my meatballs and spaghetti, if you can call a microwave meal cooking.

Thanks for the invite Prof but I never know what shift I am working, because there are only 3 of us if 1 takes some time off it throws the shift pattern out as the other 2 have to do extra shifts to cover.

I know I have got a great run coming up 15th October, 21 nightshifts in a row as one of the guards is taking 2 weeks holiday.

Reckon I am going to be turning into by the end of that run

maybe we'll get to meet another day Pete, just hope the firm pays you decently for the extra hours
