Ouch... Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope you'll get through the lean (or should I say 'anorexic'?
) times as quickly and painlessly as possible...

Don't worry about it, I just needed to vent I've been poor for so long you'd think I'd be used to it, but I've never been unable to buy food before. Good thing I'm stocked up on pepsi max
It'll hopefully be better soon, and I know I'll appreciate having money so much more now than I would have if it'd been easy.

Hey You might have noticed they're planning to demolish our stomping grounds, we might need a new place to hide out from the world. I'm guessing you're not on facebook, any other sites I might be able to find you?

Yes, I've heard a rumour to that effect...
And no, I don't frequent any other 'social' sites - but we got each other's mail addresses.
I'm not deserting this ship before it actualy sinks, though...

Hi Otus, just wanted to brag - my brother just left for Air Force training. I'm a very proud big sister.

Hey mate
I'm sure he will - even though he's training to be an armament technician
I'm fine and the city's fine - there's always money in the budget when the rich need something The city's pretty much back to normal, it's the small towns that no one hears about that are being screwed, but that's nothing new.
I've been really busy, working 6 days a week, not making a hell of a lot*, but enjoying the work anyway. I've been in training to learn how to groom dogs (shaving etc) today, so I'm stuffed. I haven't eaten anything all day either, so I'm a bit tipsy after only two glasses of wine, which is nice.
I bought a 3000 piece jigsaw puzzle from a charity store the other day, it's an old world map. I've already got a 4000 piece jigsaw map which I completed a few years ago, this one will match/complement it. My plan for tonight is to have another wine, wait for my roast to cook, watch Mythbusters and do my jigsaw puzzle. That sounds like a good night to me.
*As in I'm almost breaking even with the petrol costs

Guess that is one of the safer jobs there...
Glad to hear you're doing well - heating is important.
I didn't know you liked old maps - in that case you might enjoy this site:

Hey mate
Not sure how I feel about this new site ... Guess I just don't like change.
How's everything with you?

Hi Kyra
Haven't used the new Hootoo much yet - the look's not bad, but it's a bit clumsy when it comes to functionality... So sticking to Old Hootoo while it lasts (Also means that apostrophes look like apostophies and not like printed code...)
I'm fine, thanks - nothing very interesting to tell at the moment. And you? How are all your plans coming along? According to, I hope?

Hey
Sorry, forgot I wrote the last message, so haven't been checking for a reply
Updates: lost one of my rats and got another, and got a bird I've been wanting for years but couldn't afford (plus an expensive cage and heaps of toys) for absolutely free, so animalwise I'm going well. Workwise still in the same situation, but I guess that's life

Cool, but no, cockatoos are surprisingly hard to get here, as far as I know they aren't bred for captivity and I'd abhore getting a wild one. No, Frankie (seriously) is a quaker parrot, like one of these.http://www.gotpetsonline.com/pictures-gallery/bird-pictures-breeders-chicks/quaker-parrot-pictures-breeders-chicks/pictures/quaker-parrot-0006.jpg
I have a few pics of him (and my rats) that I'll email you once I get them off my phone and onto my computer (unless you've joined us all in this century and gotten yourself one of those new-fangled wireless phone gadgets).

Cute bird!
Nope, not a chance - I really don't like them, though I realize they can be handy in some situations

Hi Kyra - I was wondering if you had followed the rest of us over here... Glad you made it!
Still around too, though somewhat more sporadically than before, hence the late reply...
Oh, and of course
Happy New Year!

Hey!!
Took me a while to get here cos I couldn't remember all my logon info, and the gurus weren't responding - good thing I've got Mal
What have you been up to?
Life
Otus Nycteus Posted Jan 23, 2012
oh well, you're here now, that's what counts
Not up to much - you should know that... Re-reading a lot of books I didn't have time for before - Sherlock Holmes now, because of the new TV series (not the movies; haven't seen those).
How are you? What have you been up to all this time? Still working with animals? Or doing something else?

I love the series - the first movie was okay, but not on the same level as the series. It's just a pity they only do 3 episodes at a time. The second season is going to start here soon.
Yes, still working with animals, hard work, but worth it. Thinking of getting a dog myself.
