I've been around! Honest!
And yes, I changed my name as a sign of support for Shea the Sarcastic who's lost her phone line
How are you?

I'm cool, though a little tired. Haven't been here much 'cause it's summer and I gotta play. Been having a ball kiteboarding and riding the razor scooter(for like, miles). Still can't wait for some snow to play on, the kite with skis is gonna be GREAT!
Say, you aren't really as depressed as you make yourself out to be, are you?

It depends on the day I've had chronic depression for something like 14 years now. I tend to get at least two flare-ups a year. But lately I've been much better, and feel like I'm dragging myself out of it. I've just found a pothole in the path to recovery. I expect them; all you can do is pick yourself up and try again.
Kiteboarding sounds fantastic! It makes me want to get my rollerblades out.
I also want to get my son's kite out. It's very windy here right now. We had gale force winds night before last that blacked out a lot of the city.

Tell you what, there's nothing like flying a kite to remind yourself that life can be a lot of fun if you want it to be.

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks about 2" in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things -your family, your partner, your health, your children -things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks.
The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energyon the small stuff; you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children. Take time to get medical check-ups.
Take your partner out dancing.
There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, have a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the rocks first- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

Well, put it this way, if WE all know the "Secret Word" and no-one else does, then it's a secret that we all can keep to our selves......Does this make any sense to anyone? I've just typed it and can't make head nor tail of it myself!
