h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I somehow got to thinking the other day how incredible this site is in the many ways a single posting can have effects for years to come.

Specifically I was thinking of this post:

In the four years since that post was made, by someone I've never met who lives thousands of miles away from me, so many things have happened...

That post itself spawned nine directly related entries: A3456065
...which led to my favorite badge - the one you can't volunteer for.
In the course of researching those entries I came up with five more:

Offline, that posting has been directly responsible for the addition of at least a dozen new books to my library. I've taken two specific day trips and extended another trip to take in some firsthand experience. We planned our entire family vacation around the entries that came of that first post. And there is another vacation, a long weekend and another day trip planned.

I guess I could contribute my photographers badge to that post as well, since I hadn't volunteered for the photographers group before I needed to put pictures on my Uni project.

It's been a fun and educational trip

So, where are you off to next to expand your library?

A trip to Arizona is definitely on the books. Maybe next year.

My library is in a constant state of expansion regardless of whether I travel or not.
