Help with Route 66

I know a few of you live near or have travelled on Route 66. For my University Project I have a couple of photos from Missouri, but nothing for the other states.
If anyone has a nice picture of something on Route 66, a highway shield, scenic view, road relic, whatever that you'd like to see on h2g2, please let me know. The photos would have to comply with the h2g2 photographers' guidelines, I can probably find a link for that.
It would be nice to have some pictures from New Mexico or Arizona, and California, to demonstrate how the backdrop changed as you travel west.
Thanks!

Thanks, Phred! I love the neon 66 in the Elk City album I think I may have said that the first time you posted it.

broe, do you have any photos of the short stretch through Kansas? I could do that for you since it's so close to me. Also, I believe the only barber shop still open along the original route is in Royal Heights, which is about 6 minutes from me.

I know where Elk City is too. The company Lord C. worked for had a booster/pumping station there.

Broe,
Have you checked EBAY for postcards of Rte. 66? A lot of them you can print directly from the page where they are displayed.
Just a suggestion. Marilyn

Hyp, pictures of Kansas would be great!
Lady C, I had asked my grandmother if she had any old pictures of the trip she took my mother and uncle on when they were kids. She said she didn't have a camera then, but she might still have some postcards. I was going to see what she turned up. My only problem with postcards is that the images will have been copyrighted, and it will depend on when they were printed whether the copyrights have expired.

I hadn't thought about the copyright thing. I'm not sure how long a copyright is in effect. I suppose it would depend on the subject.
Rte. 66 didn't go through my portion of KS so I can't help there. Wish I could.

It didn't go through hardly anyone's part of Kansas (that was probably atrocious English, but it's too early in the morning to care).
Grandma called back last night and said she didn't find any of the postcards. Maybe I'll look on ebay after all.

Good luck with your quest. Since I grew up in Missouri with Hyp, I was quite familiar with Rte. 66 down there. You are right though, the only part of KS it went through was the southeast corner.

Okay, they've taken the entries out of PR and are getting them ready for final editing. If you have pictures you'd like me to consider, please email them to me (I have to email them to the Eds).
Phred, if you would, could you email me your pictures of Roy's in Amboy, the 66 neon from Elk City and the Snow Cap from Seligman?
There's a link to email on my page, but in case that's not working it's broelan at yahoo dot com.
Thanks everyone!
