On a related note, we are asking all volunteers to please read and consent to follow the new h2g2 Volunteer Code of Conduct A87765736 Just leave a comment in the 'I promise' thread, stating you've read and agree with the Code of Conduct.

That public promise will earn you updated badges on your Personal Space (once the last kink in code gets ironed out).

If we hear nothing from you by 31 August 2012, we will assume that you are no longer active, and you will be awarded a badge for retired volunteers.

Milla, for h2g2 Operations

I'm still here, hit and miss, but I don't think I have the time I thought I would have to devote to volunteering anymore. I really wanted to get involved in the new site, and my free time just hasn't been there - RL has intervened. I've mentioned to a couple of the editors that I would be surrendering my badges, but I didn't realize there would be something else I needed to do to 'step down'.

A 'Retired' badge would be lovely, though!

I would also *really* appreciate the ability to come back when my time allows.

It's always sad when a volunteer can't stay on, but you are always welcome back!
And we really hope to get the ex-badges working soon. Pastey has to do some coding and trixing with the 'groups' in the system, I think, but it shall get there.
