Fewer courts sitting because Judges on holiday = more people in office = less backlog of paperwork.
My work in shelf is clear, my post tray is nearly clear and I can see large chunks of my desk. I'm hoping to leave everything clear at trhe end of the week.

Well, look at it this way. Three out of four of us are on holiday over the same period on this bank of desks.
All of our desks will be awash with paperwork when we return.

Ahh, such things are not allowed at our place- people in the same dept/doing related jobs don't usually get the okay to take leave at the same time.

Well there are sixteen of us here, all with 30 days leave entitlement. You do the maths.
We don't normally allow more than four for a week or more but its at management discretion so it's nu tunusual for 5 or six to be goff for up to a week at a time.

If you start moaning that too many people are on annual leave this week then when you want to take some next month, somebody might say 'ah, well, after your complaint last month we changed the systems and you can't have leave when more than two monkeys are off at the same time or theres a y in the month.'

Except I don't work for a large organisation. I work for a little tiny bit of what used to be a large organisation. Bottom of the pecking order. Sorry, certain big clients are causing me hassle this week.
