I want a pink streak, plan to dye my hair a bit darker and have bright dark red streaks, big chunky ones like I saw in a magazine and I want a pink streak down the front too, maybe...don't fancy having to bleach my hair though.

Always quiet fancied going blonde...or at leas lighter, always kinda stucked to coppers and reds through my boring brown hairsmiley - smiley

My hair is kinda a dark-brown, and I have a chunk of hair basically starting in the middle of the part in my hair, and it goes down the left hand side of my hair, which I got bleached with just bleach, so it's basically white. I got the idea from the Belgariad series of books by David Eddings, because there is a really cool sorceress (Polgara) who has a white forelock. Mum wouldn't let me get my forelock done, because it's too difficult to hide in the rest of my hair then...

Forelock?

Like, the little bit of hair directly above ones forehead. If one has a widow's peak (a little vampire dip in the hairline), the forelock is that little bit of hair)

Ugh! I have only four more days of school holidays left, and a musical to write for my music theatre class. The problem is, the rest of my group doesn't want me to write any original music (which I would quite like to do), but want to use pop songs with the words altered. The trouble is, to say the least, they don't have the same musical taste as I do... so I am reduced to a very limited range of songs to use, i.e. the ones that both I know and the ones that they like. Plus, their plot is very typically girly/ditzy/stupid. Ugh.

I also get to work in the sound/lighting box on performance night, which should be really cool!

That would be cool, I always fancied that, but I think I'm getting to work backstage this year which should be cool even though the play will be dier.

Post 32

Lyric

Yeah! Our school has a set of pilot-style headphone/microphone thingos, so that the backstage people can talk to each other and the sound/lighting box without yelling through the performance.

God can I go to your school, that sounds brilliant.

I'm just having problems trying to come up with a mural for the english department that links in with the theatre and especially A Midsummer Nights Dream...

Oooh! Lots of Faeries, then?

That's about the only good thing about my school, though...oh, except for one window in the 'old' wing (it's around 70 years old) which I have claimed. It's not stained glass or anything, just a really nice, old fashioned, big square window with a wooden frame.

Loads of fairiessmiley - magic

The windows in our school don't open, well they do but onlt out about 6 inches and we've got heavy automatically locking doors and buzzers and big green fences everywhere...it's like a prison.

But I suppose it's for our own safety, all the schools round our area have gone into psycho prison like affairs since Dunblaine happened.

Dunblaine??? What happened there?

Our school has three wings: The heritage wing, which is seventy odd years old, and mostly wooden. The rooms have the prefix "H", eg. "H2". The McAuley wing, named after some old nun in ireland or something, which is the science and technology wing, with the prefix "M", eg "M4". The newest wing of the lot, at 7 years old. And the wing without a name, where the rooms have no prefix, and no-one quite knows when it was built, but judging by the bad taste of the architecture, sometime in the seventies. Plus the music room, perfoming arts and gymnasium centre, but that's over the road, which makes getting from Music to Maths class a very long walk. That was built sometime in the 80's.

And there you have it, a concise history of St. Brigid's College. smiley - biggrin

Dunblaine is a little town between Perth and Stirling where 7 or so years ago a bloke open fire in a primary school and killed lots of 5 year olds and their teacher.

I remember getting told at school, I was only 10, and it was a rainy day lunchtime so we were all in out classroom and the teacher came in and told us.

There's more to what happened than that but it has totally set off the alarms in the school system and now all the schools around here are more like prisons to stop another shooting or something happening again.

Gosh, that's awful.

Ahh, aren't weekends great? Unfortunatley, they always seem to give us double the homework to compensate for having a weekend...smiley - erm

Well, I happened to win a writing competition the other day (yay!), and luckily the prize was $AU100 (around 30-40 pounds, i think....currency conversion is so confusing....), which went, of course, straight to buy a new CD (not all of it, thank god, only $30), which happened to be "In Our Gun" by Gomez, which i have to say, I am quite enjoying! Thought that you would be interested, given your musical inclination! It's not a brilliant CD, but it's growing on me.
