h2g2 fan, fraying slightly round the edges.
My favourite word from h2g2 is "flollop". I do it well and often!
My current status is of an average English father of pre-teen, post toddler age children (I think, officially, they're called wealth sucking leeches) feeling my age but not wanting to show it! I have a trendy spikey haircut along with half a beard (it's to do with this father of pre-pubescent child thing, we can still make an absolute arse of our selves - for charity of course - without attracting much more than a "Dad you look silly" sort of comment). PS. Actually I look like an arse - a half shaven one at that. I think the prepubescents win the day!
I have a very strong minded (read stroppy cow) amazonian goddesss (read big breasted scarey red-headed woman) as my life partner (and I mean life! There's no way she's going to let me off for good behaviour.)
The release of the new h2g2 movie means I can start indocrinating the next generation of h2g2 offspring legitamately. I can't wait - I can now resurrect terms like pan-galactic gargle blaster without social services getting involved.
I once went to a fancy dress party in Fenny Drayton (party capital of slightly north of the A5) as Zaphod Beeblebrox to rapturous applause (well I think that's how you describe the phrase "who's the pillock with 2 heads and 3 arms!") this is where I cemented my relationship with my wife (I really should have heeded the warning from the glasses. They went jet black for some reason!)
So here we are, 20 years on from the books - sorry radio was too advanced for us - we only had TV then. And I'm still craving DA stuff from his grave. "Brain the size of a planet" Marvin looks great. I can't wait to see the rest. I've settled myself into accepting JK Rowling as Douglas's sucessor - whilst see undeniably has a gift - she just isn't Douglas. Once he's sussed out life, the universe and ressurection, I for one will be waiting for him.
Must go and pretend to surf porn now like every other respectable middle aged father waiting for the mid life crisis.
