Thanks! Very pretty.

But the second one amused me - that's not a Friesian/Appaloosa mix, that's a Noriker, and Austrian breed.

There's one in the stables where Jacko lives.

How's things in Elektra-land today?

Well we managed to get our vote in and half the weeks groceries. DG's car didn't start so wish us luck it'll be a simple inexpensive fix.

Thanks Mala, I think DG has decided to wait till his brother in law gets here as he is a good car diagnostician and can drive car to garage if needed.

Sounds like a good plan smiley - smiley

I'm so glad I no longer need a car in Vienna, they're so much trouble!

Can you take public transport out to where Jackson is?

Yep! The stable is slightly more expensive as a result, but I can reach it by train in half an hour, and they run till nearly midnight.

That's good, did you leave your car at you mom's then? I would have thought that garaging it in Vienna would be really expensive for you. Also does Austria have any Mitfahrer unions? That might be less than the train tickets constantly. How often do you get to visit Jackson? I hope he doesn't feel abandoned. Horses are presumably less needy than dogs in this regard---if someone exercises him regularly.

No, I sold it to a friend before I left Belfast - I can't use a right-hand drive car over here anyway.

And fortunately, the train is fairly cheap. I keep the horse at the last stop of the city zone, which is really already in the country. I'm going to get an annual ticket, that way, it costs only 1€ per day. Much cheaper than maintaining a car!

I get out to see him about 4x per week. He is always very happy to see me - he whinnies and runs across the paddock to say hello - so it does seem he needs a person. But I've already found a friend in Vienna (met her at my dance group) who enjoys riding but doesn't have the time or money for her own. We'll see whether she gets along with my horse, and then she could go down when I'm away. smiley - smiley

But he's a very social horse - he's already got his buddies among the other horses and a girlfriend next door. My little scruffball managed to charm the mare in the next stable, even though she's about 6 inches taller than he is and a prize-winning show horse. They're always standing there scratching each other's backs.

smiley - cool Jackson seems to be getting on well. Also it's neat that the train fare isn't too expensive.

Yeah, and when you don't have to drive, you can read a book on the commute!
