It was better that way. My father is annoying

I'm a bit obsessed with s, I'm afraid, and haven't had any around in far too long. Had to stop most of my sports when my shoulder nerves got damaged. I couldn't even lift my arm for a good three months, and am only slowly training it back up to full capacity. But that's beside the point now.

It's my x's birthday today and I don't know whether to say Happy Birthday or not

I just don't know what to do. My heart says one thing my head appears to say another. I have tried to go with my head but I miss the closeness. Sorry I'll not bother you further with this.

To put on my armchair psychologist hat, I'd say it's a good insight that you miss the *closeness*, not him in particular. We all love having someone to be close to.

Fortunately, the best kind of person to be close with is one who's a fully-developed personality in their own right, so get out there and do things you enjoy!

Well, you do have to check your own motivation for it. Is it because you genuinely wish him a happy birthday, or because it's an excuse to talk to him, and one where you can be righteously indignant if his response is unfavourable at that?
