I still can't find the initial story I read about them, but I was able to find http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,200499,00.html which, unfortunately, is from Fox News, a site that people tend to think is just made-up anyway. I should've saved my more credible link earlier.
Alternatively, I could send you to the AP Newstracker website, but I don't think I'm allowed to hand over my radio station's news password without it being a breach of trust.
Anyway, I'm just confused as to why I've not heard this mentioned anywhere else. Like you said, it's the type of thing that Bush would want people to know about. I still don't think it'd change anyone's opinions, but it might.
Either 1) Bush doesn't think it'll change people's minds and as such doesn't want to waste our time, or 2) News agencies are actively making a decision to not tell this to anyone, or 3) More news-worthy stuff is out there, so this gets pushed to the back.
And hey, with the Superman and Pirates movies opening so close together, 3 is a natural decision. Or a combination of 1 and 2. Or maybe...I dunno.

Sorry, Affy, I missed this message.
I had a look on Google news and this story doesn't seem to have been taken up by any major sites. Seems to be about some old battlefield chemical weapons, which doesn't validate the British government's dossier, or suggest Saddam was manufacturing any whilst Hans Blix was poking around, but it seems it should be a bigger story than it is.
Politics confuses me.

Me as well. I tend to steer clear of it normally.
But the fact that this hasn't been mentioned anywhere at all beyond a few obscure websites is a mystery that I can't figure out. I only noticed it due to a vague reference on a message board.

From Blair's perspective, an announcement would probably just draw attention to the various unsubstatiated claims made by the government. It'd be like saying "Okay, so there aren't any elephants in the living room, but I was right about the two mice."
Key: Complain about this post
