I started studying Old English, but got disttracted along the way by Finnish, so it got put on the back burner a bit...but I still study linguistics, and that's the field I want to go into, historical and comparative, particularly the development of English....

If I learn it I'll speak it to people, and when they don't understand say "what's wrong with you! It's perfect English!"

What can I say? Finnish and hungarian (the language spoken in Magyarorszag (?)) are closely related - to the rest of the world it sounds like sore throats, but hey - so does danish... and dutch... and... and...
Perfect english? Ha! There are more danish words in english than vice versa! In fact (as Mark Twain said): English is the only language that consist only of foreign words - that are all pronounced worngly...
PS: Don't let the xenophobia get you... It's all words, you know?
