Well hello, I'm new here and strolling around looking for friends.
I like your DNA quote, Bill Gates will sooner or later meet his nemisis...someone that will do for him like he did to IBM IMHO

I'm fine, just glad I was not working this morning as central London is my patch so to speak - I'm just off to work now - given the lack of other forms of public transport I think it is the least I can do. (This is not about making money given the traffic situation I'm going to make a loss today).
I just hope that nobody I know has been caught up in this

Thank God, you're ok too - what a relief! I'd been staying online, since you were the last person I hadn't heard from that I knew for sure was based in London.

I'm afraid I was fast asleep, woke up saw the news & decided to get straight out given the chaos & the amount of people who were stranded, but I did think to check in here & post I was OK before I went.
You have to remember for those of us over 30 this is nothing new, we lived with the PIRA bombings of London so today we (londoners) went into a well practiced routine (if anyrhing like this can ever be described as routine). I'm still amazed at the clam people are in these situations.

I'm very glad you posted here before going out to help.
I hate that anyone of any generation has to automatically know what to do in a terrorist situation... Not that it's bad they know what to do, but that the terror situation ever exists at all.
The only person we haven't heard from yet is Daraline, but Amy+ has sent an email to her, and for all we know, she could be away on vacation right now.

If I remember right she lives in Enfield which is well away from where the bombs were, so with luck she will be OK

I'm easing my way back in
and just to add to the above Enfield is not on the tube network all the stations in that area are main line (i.e. part of the national network).

&
can I just say there is nothing like crawling out of the shower in the morning, grabbing a spray can of day long freshness & then feeling that sticky wettness under my armpit as I squirt shaving gel (note to self: look at can, place other end of shelf to deodorizer)
