You sound very up with the Larks, dear lady.
Glad you have risen from your totally understandable deep-blue-funk.
I still see you are 'enunciated under the table'.

Congratulations MoG!
<< There was a time, waaaaaay back in the ancient days, when someone thought *I* was another manifestation of GB! We held a rapid posting frenzy to prove that we really weren't the same warped mind. >>
Heh, yea *cobwebs sweep away* I believe that was ol' Matt, wasn't it? or was it MK* or God or something

Bon jour!
Good to see you Alf! What's been going on with you? I shall stay under the table until I take the Halloween costume off, then it's time to go back to standard Empress mode. Guess I'd better polish the tiara.
GB! Here's something pretty for you. JCNSmith shared it with me, obviously I figured you need to know about it if you don't already. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ I don't think I ever knew who it was who questioned our Individuality. It was a Big Mystery, for some reason.
Current concern: I have to do the toast at my brother's wedding Saturday, am still not entirely sure what I'm going to say. It'll be related to Pooh. But I'm getting right grumpy about all the time going into fiddling with the details of this event, will probably procrastinate til the very last minute. I don't love public speaking. Anyway, if anyone has an idea for me, please pass it along!
The quote (which they had bits of inscribed in their rings):
"We'll be friends forever, won't we Pooh?" asked Piglet
"Even longer," Pooh answered.
They've been friends since adolescence, so it *does* make sense.

I love that APOD website
Public speaking? No good asking me. Never done any. Don't intend to either.
with that

I trust you've got the original Pooh books in hand to use as inspiration? They should be rife with useful metaphors! The newlyweds beginning their "expotition" through life together ... avoiding the heffalump traps of marriage, not falling into Eeyore's gloomy outlook on life, etc., etc. Let your fertile imagination run wild, girl! They'll have to drag you off the podium!

Glad you like the APOD site, GB! That and a cup of coffee are essential to getting my day off to a good start! The APOD thing, even possibly more than the coffee, helps me put my little life into a useful perspective.

Ooh, that's a good idea! "heffalump traps of marriage"
JCNS: This: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap050612.html used to be on my PS pre-BBC takeover, it still is the most amazing thing to me, how *they* could have called it "butterfly nebula" when it's so obviously a Christmas cracker.

JCNSmith Posted Oct 26, 2006
Butterfly?? Nah! Christmas cracker? Possibly. My vote, however, goes to alien space person reclining! Proof that we are not alone in the universe!

Pretty cool. Having grown up on the Pooh books, I've occasionally found myself going back to that well during my journey through life. The books are durable; maybe that bodes well for the marriage also being durable?
In your quest for ideas for the wedding toast (or simply in a quest for some very fun reading) you might look into 'The Pooh Perplex: In Which It is Discovered that the True Meaning of the Pooh Stories is Not as Simple as is Usually Believed, But for Proper Elucidation Requires the Combined Efforts of Several Academicians of Varying Critical Persuasions' by Frederick C. Crews ... truly hysterical, and 'The Tao of Pooh' by Benjamin Hoff.

Really, what constitutes a crowd for you? Not exactly a shrinking violet are you?
For your brothers wedding I suggest:
'Pooh always had his finger in the honey. Now my brother is going to have his finger in a honey.'
I'm tired had a long day at work best I could do!!!
Will mail you at some point.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I think I've got it figured out, a blend of natural disasters and Pooh. Guess the title should be shitstorm. It'll be ok.
Alf. *sigh* That's puerile. I send a yodeling WOOOOOhoooooo in your general direction. *snigger*

A filty mind? No wonder I have been getting headaches: I thought it was the wine that was doing it.
Must ask Z how I can sort out my filty mind. Might be able to sort out my sarcastic streak as well.
Key: Complain about this post
