amps and effects pedals-help please!

Post 1

Hi people.

Just wondering if you could give me some advice. Sorry if this is a slightly dumb question.
I have an electric guitar that doesn't have a trem bar but I want to know if there's any other way I could get a similar effect with say, an effects pedal, and if so, can anyone recommend one?
I use a Watson 15w Practise amp (2 channel clean/dist). Generally, would I need a new amp to use pedals? I'm guessing I would, as my existing one doesn't have a spare input suitable-only one spare for a mic.
What's a reasoable wattage to get, in that case? I'm not gigging, so it's not a big deal.
cheers

You can get tremolo pedals, Kaz, and you won't need a new amp - you just use two cables, one going from the pedal to your guitar an the other from the pedal to the amp. I've never used one myself, so I can't advise you on brands.

You can also create a very small tremolo effect by gently bending the fretboard away from you - this loosens the strings slightly, lowering the pitch.

Hope this helps!

May I agree with 'Rich and comre back to this when sobriety is tinkling at my cranium?

In the mean time: Tom Morello & Digitech. Give 'em a Google.
