Everything seems to have grown nicely during my hours of slumber.
Hey, thanks, Fish. That was quite hoopy of you to take that position.
The jazz hole idea is great. Yeah.
Having other bands play and us as the opening band is great. Yeah.
(I think we should arrange a time where we could all be there. I know that there is a 6 hour difference in time, but my sleeping hours tend to be your morning hours, so, we should definately think up a schedule or something)
The link to the cafe is perfect. Yeah.
But a couple of questions:
1) Are we going to be called, "YP and the Hoopy Hoopsters?"
2) What on Earth are we going to wear? (preferably not extreme feminine clothing e.g. bras, high heels, shaved legs, that whole bit)

Headliners go on last after the other acts have warmed the audience up not on first, that's the support (im in a giging band).
Think YP and the Hoopy Hoopsters is a great name. What are we calling the club though so I can title my rough draft of the page?
As for apparel I go for Tuxedo's.

Eeesh, I should have known that. I just played a gig yesterday too. Now I'm going to have to do something to redeem myself musically...Er, I'll just take a very good drum solo tomorrow.
YP and the Hoopy Hoopsters it is.
Maybe if you can convince me why we should where tuxedos, I'd agree, but till then, it doesn't sound like something too fun to play in, yeah?

True but it adds class to the whole performance. I thought we were gonna go for a stylish establishment with a cocktail bar etc...
Is that not what you had in mind?

Actually, that is a pretty good idea.
What I was thinking of when talking about a jazz hole, is literally, just a club with a bar and tables where people can dine as they watch musicians play jazz all night. Not neccesarily a classy act, but a great act, nevertheless.
hmmm...
Fine, we'll go classy, so long as everyone else agrees to it. Just one rule, though...We will not descriminate against people who aren't dressed for the occasion. Any filthy bum, or travel-worn hitchhiker can stop by for the food, drink, and jazz, regardless of whether or not they smell like rotting garbage, and are dressed in rags, yeah?

You know, Fish, I was thinking...perhaps we could be co-caretakers of the jazz hole, you know? I don't want to seem like a power hungry meglomaniac, but I've always wanted to be the caretaker of something on h2g2, and this seems like the perfect chance...
If you and the rest of the band wouldn't mind, of course...

GO to http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A583607 for my basic idea. Got a few more but not had time to do them yet.

I am going to be in a headlining band, in a club specially built for us, and I can't play jazz. This is shaping up into a nice anxiety crisis. Ah well, time to test my theory that no one notices how the bases play so much as what they look like whilst they do it. Again...
To which end. I dunno. Tuxedos are definitely not flattering to the female form. I'll feel like I'm power dressing...

Tuxedos are quite cool but not all jazz calls for such formal dress...*tries to imagine Pharoh Sanders in a tux* I wish I could spend more time on line but I'd like to hang around here as much as I can!

Looking good Mystical Fish. I must say, though, I've always had a hankering to hang out in a speakeasy. Such a great name for a start. The fact that then I can justify an outfit based on 1920s clothes has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Furthermore, we could be raided by the police at regular intervals, which might be... amusing.

I've added a list of the band members. YP you seem to know more about the history of jazz than me and you said you wnated to be involved in the management so do you want to do a bit for the Memorabilia Room? Can anyone else do a drinks list for Carlos at the bar?

I've taken more jazz history courses than I'd care to remember at the moment, but I'd be more than happy to do as much as I can for our presently empty Memorabilia room.

Thanks! You can either send me the stuff and I'll put it on the page or make your own page for it and I'll link it to the main page.
