Glad to see a new person who is an American. We are trying to get more members outside the United Kingdom to keep the Brits from monopolizing the site. I am a living in North Carolina.

Except for the whole Empire thingee, I have nothing against Brits. 'Course, that might be said of much of the world. They gave us Holmes, DentArthurDent, Vimes, Faraday and the Eloi. But enough about them.

I do note with trembling joy the love of diversity here. It is an environment I am accustomed to. Nevertheless, it is a richness that retains its luster undiminished.

O. Except for its slavery/racist/genocidal history, and its militarization of the world, I have nothing against the USA, either. It gave us Dave Barry, Bill Cosby and the moon landing. Might as well look on the bright side, eh?
