2nd November Be Prepared
Posted Nov 2, 2013
Often in an effort to avoid detection I travel by routes which may seem eccentric. Last year I travelled to Macedonia via France, Germany and Estonia. At the last minute my flight was diverted to Kosovo and I entered Macedonia by coach at four in the morning.
On arrival I learnt that my preparation had been inadequate, although I knew the name of my hotel I was unable to pronounce it in such a way that anybody could understand my accent. My carefully clutched piece of paper bearing the address was written in the wrong alphabet and I had mistakenly assumed that (like Kosovo and Montenegro) Euros would be the currency of choice. In the dark, cold, brutalist bus station I realised the depth of my mistake.
Alighting from the coach were some English speaking Irishmen. They are (I learn) health and safety delegates from the EU and I throw my lot in with them, trusting their smiling faces against the frosty chill of a bus station at night. They have procured a translator during the coach trip who talks to the taxi driver and I’m escorted to my hotel.
I am determined not to make the same mistakes again and spend the day undertaking research on Dhaka.
This mainly involves reading Wikipedia.

1st November Dharka Looms
Posted Nov 1, 2013
I am currently working as an international spy. My cover is as an accountant. I visit countries and infiltrate their government whilst giving advice to the Ministry of Finance. I specialise in ex-Yugoslavian countries and have visited Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Slovenia in the last 12 months.
I am currently preparing for a trip to Bangladesh. Information I have so far suggests I will be leaving the UK at some point within the next 3 months and will be in Dharka for a period between 6 days and 6 months.
My superior is currently stationed in Dhaka and is trying to secure accommodation within the Ambassadors Quarter.
