just who do I think I'm kidding?

I've been lurking on & off on H2G2 for some time, so I finally broke down & decided to setup an account. Maybe doing this will help me figure out where I left my towel. (My first exposure to H2G2 was the radio broadcasts, so I've been trying to keep track of my towel for some time.)

I live in Oklahoma, USA. My day job (it's usually an evening or night job, actually) is as a stagehand, working union calls at various performance venues around town (Tulsa), mostly as a lighting guy. I started doing this for fun since my wife said I couldn't retire yet after I left my last job, but really enjoy doing it (& the money helps!). I completed my test as a journeyman and have become fairly adept as a follow-spot operator. So now, I'm working on learning operation of lighting consoles and sound reinforcement systems.

In my spare time, I've been singing as a baritone in the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus for 20 years (I'm a founding member) & am active in my church (Presbyterian), as well as various other activities.

I also seem to be the resident computer technician for my wife & the rest of her family, especially her mother (who arrived from England as a war bride on the Queen Mary on it's first voyage after it was converted back from being a troop ship). The pay isn't great on that job, but it keeps the booze cabinet stocked with gin & get's me an occasional cuppa (we get PG Tips, mail order, thank you very much).
