Welcome back Christiane, I'm delighted that you and Keith are getting along ok, sorry about your stroke.
If you'd like to reconnect to your old site, you can add yourself to your friends list as I did with my older account. Here is the link to your former account:
http://h2g2.com/dna/h2g2/brunel/U12340544
That way you can migrate your friends list to the newer account, and not lose access to your old threads an all. Also check out for new stuff.

I give up""Teporarily. I hope.
In spite of doing brain exercises every day, I seem to get into a bigger muddle every time.
Perhaps I should start a website for those who have experienced stroke and call it stroke kindly.....
with affection to all of you who have tried.

Dear elektrageorghina,
How wonderful of you to send me all those contact numbers s of mine. I also had another name for a while because I was always forgettijng my password. But my first name was AlsoRan.
What I want to ask you and of course Dimitr. I wrote I think a few articles for the and to the best of my memory two of them were published.
One was entitled "The birthing of whales" and the other had somet hing to do with the first ever crash of a Viking aircraft in the world. As my then (now late/ex) husband had been flying this same aircdraft three times that week, we lmew ll the crew on board.
I wrote a memoir about the crash and this was also published in the .
I am finding all these interesting things on my computer, and as I would like to try and collate all my writing and send it to a publisher to see if it can be printed, I was wondering how do I ask for permission to publish them. Or perhaps I do not have to ask for permission.?!
What is the correct protocol?
I would so appreciate it if you could give me the correct advice. I am absolutely amazed at how my memory is returning after these wonderful exercises which I practise every day.
They really are wonderful and once again I obtained them from a fellow researcher. Although I ave thanked this person for them they say that they did not send them to me. !!
memory recall is toatlly possible after a stroke of the brain, and I really would like to write about it and give all those of us who have experienced that type of stroke to know that it is not the end of the world.
With much affection and thank you so much for helping me with finding my conversations with my fellow researchers on this magnificent website.
At least people can now realise the empirical truth that when I say that I joined this site BEFORE DNA DIED, THAT THIS IS TRUE.!!!
Also Ram jas been a researcher for a very long time. My son K. and I attended the first ever summer meeting in Regents Park in 2001 I THINK IT WAS, AND gNOMAN HAS TAKEN A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE TWO OF US.
You are totally correct when you have so kindly sent me my nom-de-plume of AlsoRan. I have returned every time I have forgotten my password but with a different number after AlsoRan!
wITH A GREAT DEAL OF AFFECTION AND MANY NTHANKS FOR ALL YOUR WONDERFUL DETECTIVE WORK.

Well you own all your entries free and clear now. The problem is that a lot of publishers won't buy things if they were published before. This is mostly print items, I am not sure what their take on web publishing is. Here are most of your entries, I am not sure when they were in , you'd need to check the creation date of the article then check Post archive. But that all is tedious and probably not necessary. If you do publish them elsewhere, you might want to give h2g2.com a plug so to speak to publicize the site more.
Also if you are a redident in a group home you could encourage your neighbours to contribute. You all lived through such interesting times and younger folk have no idea what it was like.
OK, here is most of your entries including the two you mentioned:
A31122109
A30818487
A57046421
A52843584 The CAA Viking
Crash, Tanganyka, 1953
A45546726 The Memoirs of
AlsoRan80
A38896500 The Birthing
Process of Whales
I hope that helps, let me know if you have further questions.
Love
Elektra

Dear Ekektra,
Gosh, my dear friend, you have done so much work for me. There was I asking everyone how to access my old stuff and I had not read your post to me. I know, or rather thought that I had replied to it, but forgot. obviously I have not done enough brain exercises!!!.
I really think they are excellent and could make people's lives so much happier/ It is really awful when people - mostly family I must admit!! - to me.
"I have told you that already"
OR
"You have told me that already. !!!
Well at my great age I enjoy hearing stories for the tenth time.
And I also enjoy telling stories for the empteenth time.!!!
Because they always sound new to me....!!
But they no longer do as my brain starts regenerating itself so rapidly.!!!!!
Thanks for your great help and I am sorry I took so long to reply to it. I have only just found it. !!!
With a great deal of affection to you both,
AlsoRan82

Very dear Elektra,
Well I eventually managed to find but I could not remember how to do it. !!!
I am tickled [ink because I have managed to find some friends who were my very first friends on the website when I joined before DNA had passed away. Unfortunatelly I never had the pleasure and honour of meeting him.
Now I want to make contact with Jim's wife whom I met at that very first gathering we had in Hyde Park. all those years ago. I still have the photo which Gnoman took of Keith and I. .
I wonder if you are doing anything special for Easter?
I am going down to where Keith lives is to spend the weekend there. I am hoping that my eldest son , his wife and my two grandsons - who are 33 and 26 - will also be able to come and we can have a small family celebration. Keith is very excited because he is starting a job very soon. it is wonderful his recovery.
I am the eldest of five - my only sister is 18 months younger than I am and lives in the famous Cathedral town near to where I am However we communicate by phone. !! My eldest brother is a psychiatrist and lives in Canada. Sadly my second brother died eight years ago, and my baby brother, who is my champion and financial guru lives in New York.
My eldest brother phoned me from Canada yesterday. It was a was a joy to hear and talk to him.
With much affection
