A shy head around the corner....
Well. Hello.
Introduction pieces always confound me. Writing about myself leads me down long lanes of self-analysis that become scary and difficult to get out of late in the night.
Ok. I'm a 24 year old, second year student of English and American Literature. Right now I'm struggling with the future and thinning hair. I've been living in various spaces over the past few years, sometimes in Preston and sometimes in Merseyside. I've been carrying my possesions around in a rucksack that someone once stole the ribbing out of when I fell asleep on the platform in Wigan train station.
However, now I have a fold out bed of my own! Princess Zara will be calling in NO TIME...
I have an all encompassing love of literature that has been nurtured by some very fine lecturers and spat an by one or two complete bastards. This summer will be spent researching my dissertation on post 9/11 writing, as well as cramming the theory that I've been pretending to understand for the last two years and, for the first time in a long while, sitting down to a few reads for enjoyment - something I haven't done since beginning university as a thicker-haired, yet somewhat podgy, ex-civil servant.
I'm interested in the internet and infomation sharing - this is why H2G2 appeals to me so much. Having recently come across Project Guttenburg and the concept of abandonware, as well as being inroduced to Mozilla and sitting through an interesting lecture on Linux and the concept of open-source from a friend who had a freckle on his forehead that I've never noticed before, I was (somewhat sadly)roused to enthusiasm in the concept of people 'taking the internet back'.
But unfortunatly I'm a sleeping revolutionary, one who'll yell like a cricket fan at the protests but write my name on the petition really, really neatly.
If I can put this on, this is my blog:
http://controversial-lighthouse.blogspot.com" >http://controversial-lighthouse.blogspot.com
/>This is also new, but I'm charting my progress through a mid-twenties cris on it and would be interested to hear from anyone suffering the same affliction.
So. I suppose that's it for now.
Erm. Bye?
