I'm a newbie. Saw you chatting to Mina so thought I would pop by and say hi. Very nice space. Are you a blakes seven fan? Hows about B5.
Cheers

Hello Moonglum
Welcome to my space. something stronger?
Strangely enough, i found this 'blob' in the h2g2 picture archives and thought that would do for me, and did think it looked uncannily like the Liberator. Yes i loved B7 and do like B5 too, along with DR.Who and most sf stuff.
I'm going to have a look at your space now, but nice to meet you and feel free to chat away to me here, tell me a bit about yourself, whatever you like

Thanks Dude. Putting together web pages is one of my less dubious skills. All hand written in notepad so GuideML is no major problem, in fact GuidML is slightly easier coz it checks the syntax for you and points out the mistakes.
Couple of queries though. Do you know the code to put up a HEADER which is half dark blue / half light blue? They look cool. Second query is can you put up your own piccies? The lavalamp is from the great library.
Cheers

Yeah I use Notepad too, but coding has slipped recently Lack of time more than anything.
The header which is half dark blue half light blue is called the 'Boxholder' tag and can be found here:

As to pics, no you can't put up your own. (this is probably the biggest bone of contention with researchers since the move to the BBC in March ) This is basically because the BBC don't like links to external sites. ie linking to a pic on your won site so it is displayed on your page isn't allowed cos they don't have the resources to constantly check that the pic is suitable or not copywrite.
Ah well. You just learn to live with it.

Thanks for that. I had a good read of the use of the Boxholder tag and discovered to my horror that not only does the Alabaster Skin look crap but it seems to imply that the site is moving towards this skin. Does this mean that Classic Goo is on the way out?
Which skin do you prefer?

I am a Goo man, have been since day one. (actually I was here before day 1, when all was just white and there was no real structure to conversations. I got invited to join before the site went live )
I hope Goo isn't on the way out People would leave in their droves, rather than use Alab*****d.
(however I am currently using th A cos I am at work)
But on Netscape I notice the 'Post to..' box is tiny and the writing is so small I can hardly see what I am typing.
Where did you discover this info, moon? You can teach me now

I was just reading through the Boholder page and, having read it agin, I think I've missunderstood what they are saying. The way that boxholder works for both skins is currently different and what they are saying is that the Ali** skin may be changed to work in a similar way to the GOO skin. Which is fine.
Sorry about that, still scraping the monday morning goo off my brain
BTW. Hope you don't mind but I've linked to your home page.
Cheers
