... to play a role in a role-playing scenario I am hosting. It isn't completely set up yet, but the stuff for your character (should you want to play) is up. Go to here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A598386
for the specifics on this scenario. It will point you to a general rules page. On the specific page, there is a thread called: "private thread for Captain Briggs". That is the role you will play and only you (and I) can look at that thread. Also, on the specific page, is a thread for pre-start conversation, where you can chat with other players. But don't give away anything about your character. So far, yours is only the 3rd character description I have gotten on h2g2. It takes a bit of effort, so the other players will be trickling in one at a time as I get their stuff up. I managed to get 3 up today, so hopefully it won't be too long before we can start.

...and I go and press the wrong button
Will head over and post my calling cards, etc.
By the way, can i get you email addy? Just click on the 'Linda' button just above my 'Conversations' and below the flying teacup to get mine. Just to talk a bit about this, and how you envisage times for posting and so forth, just to make sure I can be an active part of this, which I want to be, just with the shifts and stuff, so I'd like to chat to you about that offline if i may.

No problem. My address is:

I think the game will have to accommodate lots of time zones and periodic absences. We'll have to see how it works out. Summer may not have been the best time to start this up, with everyone having holidays sometime during the summer. In fact, I am on holiday next week, so we'll probably have to delay the start-up for a week. Anyway, feel free to email me, or to discuss it here.

Fine by me. On days next week anyway, but nights for mon-wed (thu am) so could get a couple of days in there, get the ball rolling so to speak
Will email you later, ok?
Nice to have anyway, regardless.

Sure. I don't think the shifts will be a problem, since we have players in UK and both coasts of the US. Your day shift will coincide with other UK players, and your night shift will coincide with US players, so neither will be a problem.
It will be interesting to see how quickly the action moves. I am always away on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so if something comes up on those days that requires my input, the action will skid to a halt. Judging from the way most action forums go on h2g2, it shouldn't be a problem - no one is really bothered by time lags.

Cool, sounds fine. I should manage to get some time with both sides of the pond during dayshifts since I finish at 7pm, and I suppose (all being quiet) at the beginning of nightshift too.
I'm getting excited about this now can't wait to get storming into it...

Yes, I'm excited too and I don't even have a true role!
Say, I had a role picked out for Lil - one that would really suit her. You said that she said that she would be back online by August. Do you think she would be back in time to play her role, starting August 5th? I would like to email her to ask, but her old email address doesn't work. Do you know how to get in touch? I used to have her in my IM list of contacts, but I lost my whole list when they had troubles with is a few weeks ago, and I don't remember her address. She is back on my list, using an address that I think is right, but I haven't seen her online for a long time. Perhaps you could email me the address you have for her.
Key: Complain about this post
