No, not again!

How grumpy am I today having woken up to the news that Blair is back in No. 10. smiley - wah

Heavens above, people of Britain, what were you thinking!

The only positives, IMO, are the labour majority being heavily cut (although it's still far too big) and the LibDems gaining their best result since 1929. And at least the Tories didn't get in.

Who would have thought I would have become such a political animal? This is the first time I have felt so passionate about a general election in my life. smiley - erm

I am so bad...

... at revision. I just can't keep focused, even though I know if I don't get down to it I will either:
a) get a much lower pass mark than I know I'm capable of, or
b) fail completely smiley - headhurts

I think it's partly study fatigue from the glut of assessed coursework that had to be done in a (for me) short period and guilt that I haven't been looking after my family properly while I have been studying so hard, so I end up leaving the study to do washing, cleaning, shopping for food and cooking.

To keep promising my son that I will make up for having no time for him for 9 months of the year over 3 months of summer is really depressing; by the time I finish my degree (probably even before) he won't really need me any more. Have I sacrificed spending the last few years of good times with my son for a selfish need to prove something to myself? smiley - wah

Sigh of relief

Well, it took an all-nighter (well, until 4:45am Sunday night / Monday morning) but I got all the essays done and handed in well before the end of Monday morning's deadline, and I've spent today doing *nothing at all* that relates to uni work.

Instead, I took a relaxing bath, went food shopping and cooked something! (we've been living on junk food for almost a month... smiley - yikes )

Tomorrow is another day, and I'm back to work revising for end of year exams that start in 3 weeks' time with Old English translation. Plus it's one of my best friends' weddings the same day! smiley - erm

Phew!

Well, that's the Anglo-Saxon essay finally done out of the way.

It took longer than I wanted, or expected, it to, mainly because I get sucked into what I'm reading, start writing furiously and forget where I read stuff and have to look it up again so I avoid the plagiarism trap! One of these days I'll get organised; it will make work so much easier... smiley - blush

As I write this, it's 05:43am, light outside, and I have been awake for about 20 hours, so I think it's time to go catch a few zzz's before I start on Joan of Arc. That one has to be done for Monday morning, too, so this might be the last chance I get for any sleep.
smiley - yikes

YAY! End of postmodernism

Finished the postmodern drama essay yesterday, and now working on Anglo-Saxon Chronicle translation (the account of Cynewulf and Cyneheard, 755ad) and a related essay concerning lordship and loyalty in 8th century Anglo-Saxon society. Joy.

Actually, it's not that bad... at least it's something I'm really interested in (love it, actually) and know a bit about! smiley - smiley
