Don't know about surprised, can't say it had ever occurred to me though. I was out with the Bi-ped last night and we had a great time.

I've only lived on the north coast (climate similar to the UK, or so I've been told...) and in the central valley. Sacramento is the furthest south I've been... And I'm usually inside.

So would it be a stupid question if I asked if last night was good?

Last night was great, but a little sad as Mark was going away the next day. Oh well, hopefully we'll catch up next year some time.

The comedy was great. We had 11 acts on, well, 10 acts and Lavinia Murray (mad as a porrigde fork) who did a christmas dance.

Then at the end, loads of back slapping. The compere gave me and other members of the crew a bottle of each. Which was nice. And we gave him a new mic stand as the other one is knackered! I wrapped it up so it was blindingly obvious what it was and took it on stage and said "can you guess what it is". First time I've been on stage and got a . Quite scary being on that stage with a mic in your hand I can tell you!

At least you've been able to see Mark face-to-face... We've been talking about the possibility of him flying over this next year (the discussion started awhile ago, but has continued after my learning that which everyone that has met him IRL now knows...) I still haven't said anything to Tom about it, though Mark is one of my best friends, and it is very hard knowing that, in all likelihood, I may never get to actually *see* him...*gets teary eyed--IRL, so I'd better do something else for awhile...*

I presume there are meets in the states. Have you been to any?

Most of the meets have been on the other side of the continent... there's going to be one in Denver in March, but I don't know those people very well... The one that's in Pennsylvania this summer I finally mentioned to Tom, and as soon as there's some dates figured out, I'm going to see how much it would cost to fly there, and see if we can afford to... Most of my friends are in the UK. In fact, Amy the Ant has said a couple of times (once or twice on here, and once the one time I got to speak with her on the phone) that I really should be in Northern England, since I seem to have such an affinity for it...

I see. There's no point going to a meet where you aren't that friendly with the people going. Well, if it was just down the road then yes, cos it doesn't matter if you don't have such a good time, but to fly a fair distance could be an expensive bad night!

I wasn't fully awake yet when I wrote that last post, and it's just struck me that you probably haven't the slightest where Denver and Pennsylvania are in relation to where I am, do you? Any more than I know where anything is in the UK...
