Dear JAR,
nobody here is "just another researcher". Soon You will find a name that fits you (or several, you should look up the split personalities we get around here ).
As I see in your homepage, you have already joined in some conversations and probably do not need any advise from me. Others will soon drop in with cool links to follow. For me, there remains like always
have fun and enjoy yourself.

ok...
JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Aug 11, 2000
I'll have fun...
Perhaps one day I'll get myself a name.... probably before I write my first article.
Nice to hear from someone.
(Until further) Just Another Researcher
Greetings!

Let me say "Welcome to h2g2!" on behalf of the ACEs...
As nim already said, it looks like you don't need much advice... But if you do, you just need to ask...
There is one link that you might find useful though, so I'll just post it here - http://www.h2g2.com/A344756 - That's a good collection of links to different places around here...
See you around!
Greetings!
JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Aug 14, 2000
Thanks for the link and so. That's a whole lot of smileys! Oh well, I guess I'll have to learn to use them more often myself...
I'll check out your link.
See ya around!
Just Another Researcher, Looking around the room to see if there is a nick available...
Greetings!
Alien Posted Aug 14, 2000
*looks around the room too trying to spot a nick*
Hey, there's one!!
*rushes to catch it but fails and it flies away*
Oh well... There must be others around too... Keep searching...
Greetings!

Ah, JAR, greetings and salutations, not to mention a large piece of red fabric which I shall proceed to unroll onto the floor...
Well, from another teen, here's the official H2G2 welcome handshake(rather simple, really, first you do a handstand in front of your computer, closely followed by three somersaults, a double back flip and behold, if you're a pan dimensional energy based being, you enter into hyperspace!...you are pan-dimensional, aren't you?)
On the serious side(about as serious as you can get on H2G2) I agree with Saint Nim the cat, you need a nickname or you're kinda stranded out here. H2G2 is all about being yourself - so let the nick be something that expresses your basic philosophy of life(check out mine). Till then, you should try going over to the Newcomers Welcome page - it's at http://www.h2g2.com/A5752 or the Aces Homepage at http://www.h2g2.com/A214796. And of course my homepage, you can get there by clicking on my name...
Bye for now!
Greetings!
JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Aug 14, 2000
Hehe..
With so much friendliness and humor going around, I guess I can't possibly use my common nick (the one I use everywhere else). It's "gloom"...
Something that expresses my basic philosophy of life?
*Thinks about life*
Gazebo -Pleaser of Many Tired Souls? (Yes, I know what a gazebo is. Do you Eric?)
Harlequin -the UnCruel and Retired One?
Gulliver and the Little People -Giants welcome at Any Time?
Human -Killed God? [No, that would be plagerizing...]
Just Another Researcher (Making a Name for Himself in the Great Post-Modern World of Evildoers and keeh-NEEG-ehts)?
Gotta think more I think.... maybe.
Thanks for popping by. I'll have the tea ready next time, if you bring those delightful, pandimensional teabricks.
JAR (as long as nobody knows, JAR could be a nick, could it not? JAR -Keeper of Trivial Knowledge)

This is not my area of speciality!
I usually deal with multiple personalities, I'll try to find a personality for some poor bloke with a non-personality!
Any how,
Welcome to h2g2, it's the place to be!
ZOE ya round

Well, congrats on the name JAR, and here come the pandimensional tea bricks...watch out they expand to the size of real bricks as they enter normal space...you'll know when they're here, it'll sound like a thousand people just said "Whop".
Whop.
Greetings!
JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Aug 17, 2000
Oh, wonderfull! I just put over some tea. How nice of you time this so well!
*eats a teabrick*
Me not being a pandimensional being per se, I'm not going to experience weird things while my metabolism processes that tea brick, am I?

Hejsan,
I coincedently read, that you will go to Dunedin next year. I have never been there, but I know (or better knew) someone who lived there for nearly all her life.
If you meet a girl about 25 (brown/red hair) whos name is Kali (just like the Hindu-goddes), så du kan berätta mig kanske?
har det trevlig jj

JAR (happy to be back, but where's Ping?) Posted Sep 20, 2000
Uhm, ok...
Hilsen JAR

Thanks a lot for helping me.
The författare of the Duneedin arktikel seems to be a little bit grumpy - so I do not expect help from this side.
Well - then, when you probably med her in january 2001, please give her greetings from "tobi aus berlin", "justus jonas" is a Nickname.
And, I'm sorry, but Norweyan is not 100% understandable for me, even Swedish isn't. But anyway -
Hilsen! jj

Todi aus Berlin it is then!
Have a nice one Tobi!

Thanks a lot!
I am living in Sweden at the moment, and I thought it wouldn't be difficult to understand written norweyan. But I guess Swedish can be also difficult to read when you mix in some Slangwords?
Anyway, tack för hjälpen.
and, when you arrive at the antipodes, you could join the "lost children"...

Well, it sounds a little bit like a Vampire thing (the lost boys) or role player thing (legions of the lost) or this french movie from the team who also made "Delicatesse" (great film), but right now it is only Lost in Scottland, Miriam (who is lost in the Carribean See) and me (lost in Sweden so far). But, perhaps we dan edite a Page here on h2g2 to attract more of us - people living utomlands have usually exiting things to tell (diffrent culture, you know).
So lets keep in Contact...
