Hi, question

Hi, iaoth! I think we've met once before. I'm here now because you seem to know something about gaming and I have a question. Do you know what Mind's Eye Theater is? This question is coming from someone who's *never* played any kind of RPG.

I'm asking because I'm attempting to sub an entry that mentions Mind's Eye Theater equivalent rulesets, which I'd like to explain, but I don't understand it, and the author is a good 4 months MIA.

Thanks! smiley - smiley

Although I didn't even know it existed, I think I can explain Mind's Eye Theater (MET) now that I've done some research. It's a system by White Wolf, and is basically a simplification of their Vampire: the Masquerade ruleset, intended for live action role-playing. It uses rock-paper-scissors instead of dice, for example.

Try looking at White Wolf's website (they have a MET quickstart pdf) if you want to know more. Since I've played Vampire: the Masquerade (both the role-playing game and the computer game), I am familiar with White Wolf's World of Darkness system. So if there's something you don't understand, feel free to ask. However, I'm sure there are other h2g2 researchers that know considerably more about MET than I do... smiley - erm

I think the answer you gave me is perfect! I just needed something I could throw into a footnote so as not to leave readers completely puzzled by an unfamiliar term.

Thanks very much! I'll let you know if I have any other questions.

BTW, here's the entry:

I'm still subbing it for the next few days (busy weekend), and I'll incorporate the info you gave me on maybe Monday.
