It's a cross between combat trousers and a Highland kilt. Bloody expensive - around $200 to $300 a lump, but they look really good if you're wearing DMs, or any kind of workmans' boot.

Baron Grim Posted Jan 17, 2014
They start at $100-$150. And even at $300, that's damn cheap for a kilt. I have a proper clan tartan kilt, made by a Scottish lass in Austin. That cost me $600 for just the kilt itself. I spent over a grand for the kilt, sash, shirt, stockings and a couple of pins. And that was over ten years ago. I looked online and compared prices to those sold in Scotland and she was competitively priced.
If Utilikilts ( http://www.utilikilts.com ) are too pricey, check out Sport Kilts ( http://sportkilt.com ). No one can complain about a kilt for under $50.

Oh, and no, it wasn't a hospital job. I am currently one of the people who go to make Texas one of the states with the highest proportion of uninsured residents, so I couldn't afford a hospital visit. Not that I needed one anyway. Just a bruised upper arm. And my white mice have escaped.

I notice that even a single space between smileys no longer register. I'd comment on this, but... no one wants to hear it.

Lanzababy - Guide Editor Posted Jan 17, 2014
re the spaces between smileys in forums. They've never shown up. Even when we were still with the BBC and only had three skins.
You have to make an actual invisible space smiley. Like this < space > But without the gaps between the brackets. It's the same situation as when you have two links next to each other in an Entry, and you have to write the code for a non-breaking space. Only, being as this is a forum, you have to use the forum code, which is the 'space' smiley.
As for us 'not wanting to hear' - we're still here listening. But the old BR reporting had grown far to cumbersome to be helpful. And often, people send in reports that are not actually bugs at all.
If you've got a real problem and cannot make the site function for you, please write to the Gurus. Their role is to help you with your problem. If they find it's a technical error, they'll be on it for you.
As for trousers, I'm glad I have the choice as to whether them or a skirt. Skirts, especially long or swishy ones, feel so nice as compared to trousers. But comfort can exist in legwear such as my lovely yoga trousers....
now I cannot decide what to wear today. Maybe a dress then

Lanza; "Skirts, especially long or swishy ones, feel so nice as compared to trousers." Yes. totally... Its that which makes cross-dressing as appealing as it is, for me, its the 'feel' of a skirt, (I especially like the feeling of a skirt over stocking-clad legs, for some reason )
Mind, I love dresses too, but for me, as a male, its more tricky to get one which will fit, as I'm a lot smaller size on my lower half than I am by the time I get up to my chest, and I need longer/tall as I'm nearly 6 FT
Actually... thinking about it... skirts and dresses are so much safer... no trying to step in and out, with half the garment on one leg, just straight down over one's head (dress), or standing full 'in' and pulling up, (or wrapping round if one bothers to undo it properly first), for a skirt, and, I guess, the same goes for kilts too I must try work up the condence to go out 'dressed' one day... if I can... oh... oh... an evil idea.... Maybe I could pluck up the courage to do so in a differnt town/city.... (Manchester meet..... )
err... oops... trying not to derail thread
As goes bug reporting, one of the difficulties with the system, we had, I always though, was it was really tricky to look through, and see if what one's discovered was a new bug, a known about one, or whatever Not noticed any real bugs myself, in ages (either alabaster/ripley, or whatever skin it is, in pliny)

Given the choice I'd wear a sarong when it's warm, and something like a cassock or a monks' habit in cooler weather.
When I was learning karate, many years ago, I'd wear the trousers from my gi at home in the warm weather. That was very comfortable.

I've got it! Toga! That's waht I need to get afterall.... a toga's pretty-much a tunic-dress, err... well sort of I might need the wreath of olive leaves or wahtever it is, to accompany it... and a nice pendant/broach and some of those cool looking leather strappy sandle/boot things the Roman's wore.... and a small short sword.... Surely no one would pass comment, if I wore that... perfectly normal attire for the pub or butchers

Not a bad idea, but now we're getting back to the idea of having my legs dangling out of the bottom of something skirt-like. Although I've just sussed a big problem with the sarong - fitting pockets into one of those wouldn't be easy.

Wait, a toga's the whole big long thing that's partly tossed over the shoulder, isn't it. The short skirt is a tunic. Okay, I could dig a toga.

The nomenclature gets tricky... and I'm not entirely sure of exactly* what a 'tunic dress' is... I always thought a tunic, the 'top' as it were...
Gosho; just carry a handbag; no need for pockets... or wear a sporin I guess...

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jan 17, 2014
The Roman tunic I'm thinking of is the long shirt that comes down to about half way between your waist and legs and is tied around the waist. The sort of thing Frankie Howerd used to wear in Up Pompeii.
A sporran. Now there's a well thought out accessory. Practical - it's at exactly the place where your arms end and hands begin, thus giving easy access to whatever you want to put in there; bigger than pockets generally are so you put more/bigger things in it than you can a pocket; one such thing might include a hand warmer... but not for keeping your hands warm
And in time of war an armour plated sporran protects the family jewels from stray bullets

yeh; thats the kinda idea I have in my head, too, for a tunic... I think...
I've wanted to buy a cod-piece for ages.... a sort of blackadder-esk style one... Not sure I could wear that in public either, though... really
I think the perpensity of women having handbags, might explain why the pockets in my jeans are so damn small

Skirts - particularly the aforementioned "long, swishy ones", bring their own clothing injury risks. It's a lot easier to catch them in the door of a taxi, or trip yourself up by walking on them, than it is with a pair of trousers.
Those might sound like far-fetched scenarios, but they are both things I have seen happen.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted Jan 19, 2014
sounds dangerous... it'd probably all be a lot simpler if we just all walked round naked... I almost* had an accident, earlier, after showering... with a pair of knickers came quite close to toppling over the set of draws whilst attempting to put them on... Seems my skills are better at removing knickers, rather than putting htem on
