What's in Gosho's fridge right now is a bottle Boon Oude Kriek and a bottle of Sam Smith's Yorkshire Stingo (amongst other beers). Thing is, they shouldn't be - I bought them for drinking over Christmas.

I must be losing my touch.

That's happening to me a lot lately, too.

I just can't drink like I used to. One bottle of beer and I'm spark out on the sofa. It's very distressing.

Nor have I yet eaten all the chocolate Hobnobs I bought, or the cherry cake I made, nor the , nor drunk even a quarter of that bottle of Highland Park (and a good deal of what's gone from the bottle went onto the pud).

To be fair, as far as the booze is concerned, I have been working nights throughout the festive period (five of them this week), and when I do that I generally don't drink because I go to bed soon after I get home from work and then have my leisure time when I get up, rather than having leisure time before I go to bed, which is how most of us do it when we work normal hours.

This one appeared on the shelves a month or two back and I tried a bottle of it a few weeks ago. It's , but I thought it also seemed quite familiar. A quick text conversation with a friend in the biz confirmed that it's the same beer as their 15th anniversary RIS, which was one of my very favourite beers of that year, and I may still have a bottle of it in the cellar (cellar ). Either way, There's likely to be a bottle of it in my fridge more often than there isn't from now on

I don't think it will be long until I uncork that 28 yr Highland Park Oak Aged (cask strength).

It will be a long time until I finish it though... barring hurricanes.
