Oh I'm getting really brassed off with this Why can't we just have that bloody edit feature and be done with it. Because it's the bloody BBC, that's why.

Mother Beeb must protect us from editing ourselves
Not any beer in the fridge, just smoked salmon and cheese.... The beer is in the cupboard just some hobgoblin as it was on offer this week at Tescos and I only* bought the beer to stop me from drinking the bottle of single malt which, if it 'survives' will be a to my FAther for Xmas.... Unfortuantley.... its a malt I'm rahter partial to myself
I am planning on buying a case or two of beer including some more of the American One I really liked from the last batch, to be delivered to my Dads for when I'm there over Xmas.... However, I have to time this very* accurately or I'll arrive back to find an empty box and a drunk Father and Brother

Yea, I got a rather cursory (and lame) response to my suggestion for a 1 minute edit window. It's obvious that they have no desire to make such a change and didn't even give it any serious consideration other than to find an excuse not to. It reminded me of the response to making a certain smiley that I also suggested... Just a quick excuse citing imagined copyright issues but no real consideration. Still that's more than I've gotten for the 8bit smilies.

Well, I guess it would be quite a large undertaking, and wihout Jim it might be tricky to make sure it fits seamlessly with the rest of the site.
It's not like the Beeb really wants to invest in h2g2 either- we're just lucky that the site was built well to start with or it'd just fall apart.
Not that this situation doesn't suck, of course.

Racer 5 IPA

We had this one on the menu earlier this year as a tie-in with Speed racer. The movie was poo but the beer is
Deschutes Black Butte Porter
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/198
This beer is vying with Sierra Nevada for my choice as favourite porter, and it's a damn close run thing. They're both excellent. Ginger Man has both of them on tap.
And then there's 512 Pecan Porter http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17863/45617
As soon as the Anchor Christmas is finished (we're on our last three kegs), I'm putting this one on tap
Speaking of Anchor Christmas, I've just stashed two kegs of it away in a cool, dark place to age until this time next year Shame that this year's brew wasn't one of their best

Let me rephrase that...
How can they be sure?

Baron Grim Posted Dec 10, 2008
Actually, the first comment to that was someone quoting Douglas Adams:
"Forget beer...
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.
The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards.
The Guide even tells you how you can mix one yourself.
Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit, it says.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V — Oh that Santraginean sea water, it says. Oh those Santraginean fish!!!
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzine is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it, in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia.
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones, subtle sweet and mystic.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian Suns deep into the heart of the drink.
Sprinkle Zamphuor.
Add an olive.
Drink ... but ... very carefully ... "

Dale's Pale Ale
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2681/6518
Yes, it's beer from a can... and it's good! Nice hop bitterness with a slight sweetness, and bags of citrus. Lovely bitter aftertaste, good body, good carbonation. I'd love to have this stuff on tap

Oaked Arrogant Bastard (again). My Christmas present to myself And quite a treat at $15.00 a six-pack!
Left Hand Black Jack Porter (again).
Some nice Port Salut and a wedge of Cheshire cheese. Not in Gosho's fridge is a box of Carr's Table Water Crackers to go with said fromage. Also not in Gosho's fridge is a bottle of Jefferson's small batch Bourbon.
I feel a bedtime snack is in the offing

Belhaven Scottish Ale
I've never had this before so I thought it's about time I tried it. I haven't done so yet - I came home in the mood for an Oaked Arrogant Bastard.
Left Hand Jackman's American Pale Ale
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/418/1675
I've yet to open a bottle of this too. Looking forward to it though - Left Hand make some good beers and I haven't had this one before.
A few days ago I also had a can of Southern Star Pine Belt Pale Ale which was given to me by a rep as a sample http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16759/42075 It's not there now cos I drank it and it was delicious Hoppy, citrusy, with a nice bready, yeasty undertone.

Not Gosho's fridge, Gosho's booze cupboard...
A bottle of 12 year-old Tullamore Dew
A bottle of 12 year-old Elijah Craig Bourbon
A bottle of 10-year old Taylor Fladgate Tawny Port (wish I could afford the 20 year)
That's on top of the Highland Park and what's left of the Jefferson small batch Bourbon.

I was trying to find your Earworm thread earlier, but decided I had a life after all and gave up. For the record, it was 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da', one of the most irritating songs ever written.
