Oh, so it was your fault was it Gosho Thanks for the link. I saw a couple of photos in the paper, but that video clip was awesome. Weather is wonderful and scary all at once. You never know where it is going to strike next.
I follow the weather underground web site which is fascinating. They have some stunning photos too.

And another record falls in 2008. At Austin Bergstrom today, the temperature reached 90F/32.2C, beating the old record from 2005 by 2°F. Camp Mabry only managed a paltry 86/30. Pah! No record and only 12° above average. I don't even get out of bed for that kind of money

Bit chilly this morning... by Texas standards anyway. On Wednesday night it was warm enough that I could do without the duvet and sleep under a sheet, but last night the duvet came back with a vengeance and I had to turn on the heat for five or ten minutes while I took a shower. They're forecasting an even colder one tonight at 45/7.2, but Sunday night is going to be 20F higher at 65/18.3

Very damp here in the UK but much milder than of late. My heating can't keep up, so we are either too cold or too warm
I was surprised how cold you have it Frenchbean, I wasn't expecting that, but the climate is a bit more like the UK in NZ isn't it, not like Oz?

Definitely more like UK, Websailor. But actually it's been described - pretty accurately I believe - as cool Mediterranean. We don't have nearly as much rain as UK and much more sunshine
The sun is out today and forecast to reach 14C, which is a major improvement on yesterday, but the average daytime temp for November is more like 20C.

It's a damn sight warmer this morning (68/20) than it was this time yesterday (45/7.2), and the cloud cover has gone from 0% to 100%, which largely accounts for the warmer temperature. I'm told we have a 60% chance of rain this afternoon, possibly some thunderstorms and tornadoes

Bitterly cold here, dull all day and raining. Bucketed it down last night and blew a gale. I have a fence panel out It's crawl under the duvet and stay there weather - if only I could

We appear to be on the edge of a tornado watch box. There's a powerful looking line of storms approaching Dallas-Fort Worth, but not a drop of rain in Austin yet.

It managed to miss us all day yesterday
Right now, however, there's a storm just to the west, and when I say just to the west I mean less than half a mile but heading in a northeasterly direction so it'll barely skirt Fort Gosho. I can hear plenty of thunder and we've had a sprinkling of rain in the past five minutes, but no more than that so far

We're going on our third day of soggy today with possibly another half day of it tomorrow. Monday we had nearly 3 inches of the wet but it seemed like more because it rarely stopped all day long. Yesterday wasn't as bad but still quite soggy. I was off work and hung over from the weekend (at the RenFest) so it was a great time to stay in and catch up on some films and TV.
Today I'm hoping we get at least a few downpours during the day as I'm in the car and it still has a thick layer of dust on it from the first weekend in October. It's been sitting under my car cover and the few times I drove it since then the predicted rains never came.

Our first proper cold front of the winter has just rolled in. It doesn't feel like summer any more It's a bit taters out there, and could get close to freezing in some rural areas tonight.
