Hello from sycloboy
Welcome to My space, it's nice of you to drop by.
I must admit to finding this type of introduction quite dificult to master. For me they always raise the issue of self-knowledge versus the perception of others. What do I want to say about myself (and why?) And what will others make of that (or how will I come across?)
I think it was Thomas A Kempis who said that no-one cold safely appear in public unless they would rather remain in private.
In fact, you've probably already formed an opinion, so I'll just tell you about some of the things that are important to me, or that take my interest and leave it at that!
I have chosen to link to the h2g2 site because it has so many facets and I have a healthy curiosity - there aren't many areas of our existence that do not provoke an interest from me. Maybe not always an interest resulting in an in depth understanding, but at the very least I hope a willingness to entertain new thoughts and new ideas. And this follows through with my personal interests - for each one I am always happy to think about something new.
Music is a great love of mine, both playing and listening. Writing is the next followed by reading, cycling, running and the usual mix of 20th century pleasures - film, food and travel.
I love to learn, so maybe it's no surprise that I also teach. But perhaps the real reason I am here is because of a desire to connect and share with others who, like me, have a general curiosity. A curiosity which may, on occasions, become more focussed in the prescence of those who really know their stuff - the people who have taken the time and effort to explore subjects in more depth than I could.
So I hope this will provide a useful and stimulating platform for me, and that perhaps one day you may find something which will do the same for you here.
