MR GRUMPY LIVES HERE.
say what you want and call me what you will, but i HATE halloween and trick or treating. we spend all our time telling our kids to avoid strangers and definitely not to accept sweets from them, and then once a year we send them out to do exactly that!

if you were sat at home any other night of the year and some random kid knocked on your door demanding sweets, you’d slam the door in their face worried that it may be some kind of police sting operation! so why is it ok on 31st November?

i’m pretty much of the same opinion about carol singing too. it’s nothing short of begging. if you are the first lot to turn up at my door on xmas eve (and i mean eve, not teatime) then you may walk away with a mince pie or something along those lines, but after that i am afraid you have shit out!

i may be grumpy, but i think it sends out the wrong signal. thats all.

i’ll sit back and wait for the flack to come.

ttfn,

sime

football doesn't usually feature strongly in mt blogs or such. unless barnsley or leeds have managed a stunning victory of sorts, or i am totally outraged, as i am today.
what is it that means manchester united can play the game so beyond the realms of common decency and fairness? it's not bad enough that spurs had a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed some seasons back when it had quite clearly crossed the line, now they seem to be allowed to handball at will without punishment, and rio ferdinand seems to be the fifth offical given that all the spurs players were told to bugger off by the ref yet he managed to stay in the refs face all the time he was conversing with the lino!
bitter? me? nah!

i have a new base unit! at long last i don't have to rely on my laptop. i can sit here and do what i want to do properly.
the only downside is i now have to start the process of transfering all my music onto the new hard drive. and trust me, there is a hell of a lot of it!
best get to it.

enemy is home, fast asleep in bed. she's had a comfortable night. sporting a lovely scar, about 10" across her belly. neat though, so should heal well. (she's never been the bikini type, so that's not an issue). we have a big bag full of painkillers etc that she needs to keep up with. the only problem we have is that we don't have a shower, so she's going to go to her mothers for one. better than a bath. ive sorted the bedding that i took off last night so she can get into clean sheets tonight (lessen any risk of infection)
the dog hasn't been too impressed however. rather than having him jumping all over the bed getting comfy as he normally does, he spent the night in his cage. he's fine in it, and settles down quietly when we use it in the tent, but last night he was in the kitchen, and all i heard all night was huffing and puffing and a half hour of proper barking. at 1:30am. sorry next door types! i'll carry it upstairs tonight and put him in the bedroom with us. see how he goes with that.
on a completely different tangent, i am sat at the kitchen table watching some window fitters work on their 4th house this week! we live in a row of back to back terraces, and a lot in the row behind us are owned and rented out by one person. he must be doing well for himself as he's had them all re-done. in fact looking at that row and ours, it seems we are the only house out of the lot that have broan frames not white. can't say i am fond.
best go and nudge the enemy now, get her to take her tablets.
ttfn,
sime

yes we argue, mainly when we are in each others company, which is why working nights is better for BOTH of us. but i have genuinley missed having her around.
