Were you arbitrarily assigned to me, or did something catch your eye? I've been part of a few VR communities before where people were led around for a few weeks like sheep, then the big truck pulled up, and all the sheep got inside, then the truck went away and the farmer came back talking about fresh mutton...Just finding my feet here, and soon I'll get the hang of this, that, and the other. Any suggestions for early reading, to get a feel for what goes on, what's considered decent research, or generally how to cause a ruckus?

I think the fact that you appear as a 'New this week' person in the 'Who's Online' window, probably had something to do with it
basically I would use the links posted above, or drop by one of our pages (click on our names) and have a look at some of the forums we are involved in. if you like what you see, post to the thread.
As for articles, what are you interested in?
BTW, no I am not from Canada, (Scotland actually) but I am a Slacker
have a fish

If I can steal someone else's line, so long and thanks for all the fish...(okay, really bad pun...my bad...what's the standard punishment in these here parts for punning (and if someone mentions a punitentiary, I'm getting the gun...)
To be honest, I'm not from Canada either. According to my friends, I'm from somewhere out there. I just happen to have been born here, and have all the benefits of Canadiana (love of hockey, rugby, beer, snow, and all things to do with constitutional crisis, language debates, and petty bureaucracies).
Sorry.
I don't do smiley faces all that well. Got one with a lecherous grin?

lolling, lecherous, eh, it's pretty much the same. One's from lack of drink, the other's from lack of...

...young women in your life?
Leering. Now that would be an interesting smiley!
Or wonkey eyes! Surprisingly there are quite a few people on h2g2 who have their own smileys and/or fish on their homepages. Unfortunately atm we are restricted to the 6 we can use within forums. Oh well, one day the letcherous or leering smiley might get designed!

Or the pythonesque-foot smiley, or the "No, really, I'm sane" smiley, or the axe murderer smiley.....
sorry.

who's the smiley authority 'round these here parts, anyhow? Is it a despotic system or democratic? Do we get a vote, or do we get some sort of Voice From Above? I wanna know if there are any standard rules as to bribery, conniving, and generally trying to weasel my way into the corridors of power...then maybe becoming like a state governor and using it to get girls (kinda like Clinton, but not getting caught...)
Key: Complain about this post
