All ye, who enter here, abandon hope! Actually, that's just a little bombast. Not much hope need be abandoned. I'm so new to the h2g2 mystique that I am ill prepared to submit a proper introduction at this time. Check with me later when I've become a cynical, grizzled veteran.
I am a musician for a vocation, and I specialize in the collecting, displaying, lecturing on, and playing of ancient musical instruments, i.e., medieval, Renaissance and baroque instruments from Western Europe (those that directly evolved into the modern instruments that now sound in our bands and orchestras). This partially explains my nickname, the rest of it being how primitive I appear to most of my friends, having never owned a cell phone, a LAN line, or cable TV.
I also am a church musician, a singer, a choir director, and an arranger/composer/orchestrator of music. If this seems to alert anyone to the possibilities that I lean toward theistic tendencies, that assumption would not be incorrect. If you are of that school who believe that theists have only hot farina in their brain pans, you might want to pass over this site. You would probably not like me, and I don't cotton to bigots and elitists.
There are more very interesting things about me (I find them fascinating), but I will stop with the mention of my 5'6" iguana, Ignatius.
