Hi MM
I've been busier than a one armed paperhanger, or a one legged man at an ass-kicking convention--all to the good , as it turns out.
Sorry to hear of your rather upsetting changes, but if you are as good a choirmaster as I suspect you are, then it may be a blessing in disguise. My experience of the music business has been only on a second-hand secular level, but it seems as though the ego-trips amongst musicians are universal. Your philosophical outlook is the best way to look at it, no doubt.

Today it is raining--Hosanna, Hosanna {in deference to you--privately I just said YAY!] I ran out of water 5 days ago, and all my friends have been careful to stand upwind ever since. All that dancing aruond naked outside with a bar of soap have finally paid off, and though I hope its not a permanent end to the gorgeous Indian Summer we've been having here on the Wet Coast {can I say that, or should it be Native something Summer?] Its just that when it begins to rain around here we feel it might never stop! I'd rather that than hurricanes any day though.

Hang in there, MM I'm sure you will be singing with the angels any day now! It surely beats sleeping with the fishes, doesnt it?
Thank you for your encouraging words---I really appreciate it.
Soddenly,
LizardLady

Medieval Man

Dear LL,

I repent of my sins of procrastination, which is the thief of time, and so is every other big word. Behold, I surface, alive and well in Miami.

It's been a busy fall season for me. The wife down here landed a plum of a part-time job, teaching her forte, phonics, to first through fourth graders. I am still trekking on toward the abyss, the last day of the year, when I must leave my beloved choir and launch out into the Void. That void is devoid, as of now, of any other job situation.

It's been five weeks, so the prompts on this website tell me, since I last spoke with you. I wonder how you are faring with your own changes of circumstances. Time wounds all heals.

Actually, I am still such a novice at this H2G2 stuff that I don't even know any other location than my own site, and I also know no other fellow traveler other than you. I hear rumors that there is life outside the confines of my own webpage here, but I have no idea how to find it. Every once in a while, I seem to hear faint voices of joy and revelry from an unspecified distance as I come to meditate here and write you a line or two. Occasionally, I think I hear the sound of a vehicle go by from afar. Mostly, it is solitude except for your notes, which wash up in a green bottle on my desert island.

We are having this national pastime in America called a presidential election, whereby two political parties, the Demolicans and the Repubocrats nominate a candidate stupid enough to actually run for office. The only hard and fast rule is, both must represent the mediocre wing of their respective parties and have as few past felonies as possible. All is coming down to the nitty and the gritty in 4 days. According to both camps, life as we know it will cease if the other devil wins. Since it is almost certain that one of them will, we are doomed.

When you get the time, tell me how things are on a speck of almost dry land in the middle of a wild channel off the frigid North Pacific. Your habitat is as exotic and faraway to me as mine may be to you, yet we are both travelers on this same ship of earth, our common bond, that, and lizards. Best Wishes, Medieval Man

At last!
A message from the abyss! There you are, contemplating the void, when all this time I thought you were avoiding me!
Sorry to hear that you havent found another choir to sing with, but arent you lucky to have a partner to send out to work! Especially if it is work she enjoys. Have you considered busking?
My personal situation has stabilized--we practised the great Canadian art of compromise, and for now, all is well.
You may or may not have heard, we are having an election in Canada as well-we vote on November 27. The campaign is only a couple of weeks old, as here the party in power gets to choose when the election will be. Its nowhere near as long drawn out a process as yours--thank goodness. We have 4 parties[not counting fringe ones] ,but the real choice boils down to 2--which is not much chioce at all, really. Sound familiar? As for your need to explore H2G2--try clicking on Dont Panic and see where you end up--or visit me @U132346--type in search window.
Will talk soon---dinners ready!

I know I may SMELL like it at times after crawling under, over and around desks, tables and cabinets, under the floor and in the ceiling all day, however rest assured, I still fog a mirror when I breathe. smiley - winkeye How have things been going for you?
