Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive

Hi Shorn Canary,

I have just opened a Natural History Museum at http://www.h2g2.com/A416819 and I wanted to ask you two things.

Firstly, are you happy to be in the museum (you only have to stand still when there are visitors)? Secondly, may I link from your name in the museum to your Space?

How kind of you to ask. Yes, please. I would be happy to be included in your Natural History Museum and I'd like to be linked too. I've been over to have a look and I think it's very good and a great idea!

I would ask one favour though: I'd be awfully grateful if you would place my perch by a wall as I've noticed there are a few cats about and I get slightly paranoid about the puddy cats creeping up on me. smiley - winkeye Thank you so much!

Hope you don't mind my making an observation re the NHM: should Seagull's Lost Horizon be under Birds and do you know you have a Jellycat under Equines?

Also missing: The Beast of the Number, HepKittn, www.Budgar.co.uk, Classicat's Dad, Moo, The Fang, Manhog. Just found these in the Who's Online window. Tell me to mind my own business if you like. 'Interference' could very easily be my middle name. smiley - smiley

Hmmm. Jellycat is a horse. Seagull's lost horizon -- I keep seeing the name on the list but is that entity a Seagull or a Lost Horizon.

I cannot categorise The Beast of the Number or The Fang. If they wish to be included they're welcome but they'll have to tell me where they want to stand. Budgar? What sort of animal is that? I'd missed Moo, thanks. Classicat's Dad must be a cat. Is there a Classicat too, I wonder? Manhog. Depends. More man than hog, perhaps? HepKittn -- That's a new one. and a boldlioness has just appeared as well.

I see what you mean. It's clearly not as straight forward as it first appeared to me. There seem to be some truly bizarre name spellings and I thought I was beginning to get used to it. I thought Budgar was probably a budgerigar and HepKittn was most likely some sort of kitten. Manhog didn't seem too problematical to categorise because both men and hogs are mammals. If only all those other creatures were as uncomplicated as we birds and insects.

Good luck that Ant! smiley - smiley

The Natural History Museum is taking shape. I have designed a logo for it and I hope you will display it on your user page. Here is the code for the logo and links for GuideML pages. It can be modified for HTML pages by changing the LINK tags to HTML anchors.

Ok Amy, I've done that. It's brought about a big improvement in my page with minimal effort on my part. Thank you very much! smiley - smiley

You're most welcome. Your page is looking good. Would you like me to find (and host) a picture of a canary for you?

I'd be tickled pink (well, yellow actually) if you would do that for me. Never in the field of avian tweetiness has so much been owed to one Ant by one Canary. Thank you very much! smiley - smiley

You look lovely, especially in goo where the blue background sets off your yellow feathers nicely. (Incidentally it took me ages to find a *yellow* canary, the current fashion appears to be for peach or pink canaries.)

Consider putting a tag in front of the image with a corresponding after it.

Ah yes, I look even more beautiful centred. I tried goo, but I thought the banner advert at the top of the page rather clashed with the blue but looked less offensive against an alabaster background.

I'm so please to have a page that looks as though I've made an effort now - even though the effort was all yours. Everyone will think I'm not just a pretty boy. I'm extra especially grateful because you had to hunt down a yellow bird. You're right, a lot of people now seem to feed their canaries on a food with dye to make their feathers pink. Flamingos are pink for the same reason, by the way. 'Spect you knew that.

Good afternoon Amy. My page is looking a little sad without its Natural History Museum logo and my photo is lonely. Are the logos allowed to go on holiday? Is it off sick? It was Friday yesterday - perhaps it went out on the razz last night and now has a terrible hangover. If you see it staggering around in your travels, could you point it back in the direction of home please? Thanks Amy. smiley - smiley
