*hums*got my mojo workin', but it...got carried away there. I'm popping by as one of the <./>aces</.> here, or assistant community editors. We greet newbies such as yourself and ease your settling-in process a bit. Thanks for the brief introduction , not everybody provides one initially(so I really appreciate it!) But to familiarize yourself with everything carefully review Feisor's list of Hints and Links att A719840. Among the many Many features you'll find mentioned there are the assortment of <./>smileys</.>, the wordplay of the <./>GamesRoom</.> and our weekly newspaper <./>thepost</.>. However a thorough examination of the list(s, because there are two)will reveal items such as the Researchers' Map at A5076614 and the Regional Researchers' Groups at A660313 (to name just two).
So take your time going over everything closely and I'd suggest stopping to explore the various links in the process. Oh and I know I needed to go back to reread bits for some time - but it'll all come pretty naturally after awhile. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a message. Simply use the 'Reply' button below, and I'll try to get back to you asap, ok.

Oh you're most welcome! And yeah, I'm guessing then that you're in the Wahington DC area(?) Gotta say that up here in western Canada we know all about blizzards - http://www.edmontonsun.com/news/edmonton/2009/12/13/12141366.html But then climatologists had said northern latitudes would experience slightly more noticeable effects(of climate change). But I guess most us are feeling it/them-to one extent or another-these days. Anyway, all the best, ok...hopefully there won't be massive power outtages or anything. Stay warm! (uh yeah, make that a hot toddy or hot buttered rum I guess)

I'm in Virginia,I probably exaggerated a little about near blizzard conditions, but it's been worse than we're used to. Canada, huh? Are you a wrestling fan? And if you are, are you a Brett Hart fan? I haven't been watching much recently but I did see he came back recently.

Alright Virginia, but right extreme weather when you don't normally experience it almost seems a little more extreme(in other words prompting a bit of exaggeration). I'm somewhat of a wrestling fan-so a bit of a Brett Hart fan I guess, but no I haven't watched too much lately either.

*original Star Trek Nomad voice* 'Er-ror, er-ror...* Where? No didn't really notice, but then I''m not marking you on spelling. Just had a nice serendippitous -well, it's visually correct- experience. Stopped at a (small Canadian chain)brewpub http://www.brewsters.ca & tried their seasonal offering, a Hawaiian Coconut Porter. Definitely a porter, but with a fairly subtle hint of coconut in both the aroma & the aftertaste. Kinda ...Hawaiian vacation in a pint glass.

Sounds very good.I watched a documentary last night on the History Channel about bourbon production.Pretty interesting. I don't drink like I used to, but have nothing against it. I would like to taste that porter though.

Missed post #7, about the coolest places & most recent postings. Depends what kind of coolness you're looking for I suppose.
If you're curious about some of the faces/people behind the nicknames, you'll enjoy A20917604. That's actually just a starting point but that'll take you(offsite)to a photo gallery that one of the researchers set up in '04. So it's good-sized by now, it's interesting ...& of course there may be changes from time to time.
And take a good close look at everything in the <./>GamesRoom</.>...I regularly use segments of that. A couple examples, F19585?thread=101117&latest=1 (& scroll down) or F2137311?thread=3061321&post=92126815#p92126815 ...or another one that I show up on every now'n'then, F19585?thread=116314&latest=1 -again, scroll down.
Oh, by way of(suggesting) introductions, signup in the appropriate regional group at A660313. You'll likely meet, if not other Virginians, people in neighboring states.
That's a few ideas, I suggest you look through Feisor's list again(you're sure to find areas of personal interest). Looking through Emmily's h2g2 in a nutshell at A8468742 might be helpful, as well as taking The h2g2 Tour at A317459. Oh & further down the list is the newspaper's links page...numerous possibilities there!
Now, about the ...
The purist in me is saying http://www.claudiocorallochocolate.com but 1) I like variety & 2) there're so many good ones...& I'm sure at least 1/2 a dozen that I haven't tried. A bit like Claudio Corallo-but quite unique-is Mexican-style http://www.tazachocolate.com made in Somerville, MA. Then I also like http://www.theochocolate.com from Seattle. Another American company I like is http://www.madecasse.com (actually made in Madegascar, but the company's headquartered in New York).
I'll try to keep this short ...I've tried good Italian, French, Spanish, German, even some Croatian(of course Swiss & Belgian)& Austrian. The last being the most exotic, some interesting flavors/ingredients - http://www.zotter.at/en/home.html Some examples-at least that I've tried-a white poppy & cinnamon with apricot spirit(brandy I'm guessing & just a small percentage), /banana, with bird's eye chili &(most recently)their BioBier "Rossa", among the ingredients '...cane sugar, organic beer & organic beer brandy' of course always just a slight % of alcohol, mainly as flavoring. But there's a woman here that imports a number of the foreign bars & even makes some of her own - http://www.kerstinschocolates.com She makes these great cashews covered in chili-lime flavored & really good truffles...but see what you get for asking me about ?

Forgot a few, along with the Croatian, have also found Polish & I believe Czech a few years ago. Discovered all of those at an Italian grocery http://www.italiancentre.ca that imports alot of eastern European products. Of Course Dutch, which was a favorite for years http://www.droste.nl/data/content/engels/index.php Recently-well, last year-found some Danish that for years & years I had only seen as the little liqu(o?)er-filled-chocolate-bottles(website has sound) http://www.anthonberg.dk/Forside%20afspiller-%20international.aspx Stumbled on those & some South African http://www.vgchocolate.com (dark with anise & dark with orange & cinnamon, I prefer dark )at http://www.winners.ca -hover your cursor on 'About Us' & click on 'Our Story', you'll see they also own Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc.(discovery, the I mean). *sigh of resignation* Now after psyching myself into a craving, I'm hanina a Green&Black's Ginger bar, which is good(quite good)but not too Too special...sort of medium-range(imho)better quality ...get me talking about , huh

Yup, sho'nuff! I confess, at times the obsession Almost gets out of hand. That's why I'm trying to stay away from online shopping - once I start buying online(& that's pretty inevitable)...all is lost!
