Pink Floyd rocks. I love Pink Floyd! I havent heard echos though. I like the wall the most.

I'm *still* trying to get into the wall - haven't listened to it enough yet. Echoes is a long, really atmospheric song. If you find it, listen to it in the dark.

Hi! I haven't heard Animals, but I've heard of it. How many albums are there?

Aurora Posted Mar 29, 2003
They were playing something from "Dark Side of the Moon" on Radio 2 earlier. Radiohead's "OK Computer" was the featured album, so they were making lots of comparisons to Pink Floyd.

The `Meddle` album including the track `Echoes` formed part of the sound track of a surfing film called `Crystal Voyager` It really fitted in with the visuals.
My favourite Pink Floyd album is `A Momentary Lapse of Reason`

Did anyone else see that program on Dark Side of the Moon the other night? I'm definately going to have a root through Mum's old records in the attic to find it.

I hope you dont mind me joining the conversation but i was looking at the most recently updated entries, saw the subject and had to come and have a look. All the albums mentioned are fab, i have had each of them for years and often play them, but have you listened to Wish you were here, (title track being the best on there admittedly). Catch you later .

if you guys haven't heard it... check out 'piper at the gates of down'.... their first album and probably one of the best (i have heard them all and this is probably the best in my books).... this is where it all started.... its kind of interesting that the person who gave them their sound was set off after the first album.... syd barrett... wonder where's he now-a-days.... is he still alive

Hello everyone,
a lot of questions have been asked in here and you can find all the answers here:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/music
There is a search box you can use to find artistes and albums.
You even get to see the cover pictures.
I hope that helps you all.
Dave.

Well lets be honest, no turntable is no fun, in all respect cd's are great but i'm a firm believer that they lose the raw edge of records. No turntable though, not all that bad, afterall thinking of Floyd just conjured up all yhe magic within the old grey matter and doesn't lose anything, well not when listened to that often you can lie down and hear the music. All the best .

Hello there, I'm pretty new here, and the title of this thread caught my attention... I know the last post was in may, but someone has to read this, right?
Anyway, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd claims that Syd barrett lost it. Went nuts. He's a few sandwhiches short of a picnic.
In fact, "shine on you crazy diamond" (possibly one of my favorites) was written about Syd Barrett.
Anyway, the echoes compilation cd, just released last year i think, is pretty good...It's like a "best of" cd, and it's got some of their best work, like "wish you were here" and "comfortably numb"
other than that, animals might have to be my favorite, that or dark side of the moon.
ta!

Hey man, I'm new (this week), too.
Don't worry. I posted in response to a journal entry that was, I think, over a year old when I joined. (Difference is, unlike you, I wasn't very observant and didn't realize until AFTER I posted that it was old. )
