I feel freshly created every morning! Or whenever I wake up. I have been in the habit of sleeping by day and working by night lately. Sounds like Dirk Gently, don't I?
Sea, your post about your religious conversion has been reinstated in its rightful place! But the problem is, it's now on the previous page, so nobody will see it unless they go to the trouble of going backward and rechecking.

Yeah. But Hapy, I'm sure you'll think of something to jazz your site up again.
Hey, sea, congrats on getting into USC!!! By the way, are you still having a nervous breakdown, or is it better now?
And also: can you tell me a little about charms, spells, and blessings? I would find it interesting to hear what you have to say about that. What about the ethics of bad spells and curses? Is it a good thing to put a curse on a bunch of blundering politicians, for instance, or would it be better to magickally turn them intelligent? Or is the latter impossible? Like to know.

the nervous breakdown has reached critical mass and is approaching nuclear holocaust. but how are you?
as for magick...
charms are short little spells, usually directed at a physical object or person. directed at an object, they create a talisman (of sorts) that provides for the desired effect. when directed at a person (usually used for protection) the person becomes the talisman. sadlyl, charms rarely work in the form you desire them to. for instance, you cannot empower a ring to make Susie Homemaker love you. However, if you empower a ring to BRING YOU LOVE, then it will work. it may not work instantly, after all, the universe is rather large, but it will work.
spells are... hard to explain. some spells are simple chants (usually quite like poetry), some are complex rituals that take hours to finish. It depends mostly on the witch and the intent for the spell. spells to make pimples go away are generally shorter than spells to find a lifelong love. ingredients are herbs, spices, stones, sometimes the witch's own blood for potency, or if it's a banishing spell, items that belonged to the target.
blessings. that word usually refers to christian rituals of cleansing, but i suppose it applies to ours as well. we do our own sort of cleansing to remove negative energies from our persons and the tools we use. some witches use something called "witch light" for protection or healing, which basically is where you imagine a healing white light around yourself or the person you want to protect. the effect is very similar to christian prayer.
bad spells/curses are ABSOLUTELY wrong. wicca teaches that we should not harm anyone or try to supress their free will.
as for the politicians... you could cast a spell to attempt to open their eyes to the truth... but not much else. *shrug* no one person can change the world singlehandedly. but we can try, no?

You ask: currently I am at peace with myself and the universe ... any way I can use a charm or a spell to transfer some of my tranquility on you, to help with that nervous breakdown???
A while back you told about the problems you had with your parents and your church when you decided to change your religion. For long I have refused to talk about the problems with the people from my old church, but recently I had a dream that showed my I have unfinished business and so tomorrow morning I am facing the preacher. I am rather uneasy about what I'm going to say, but basically I want to do what I can to preserve good relations.
But I can tell you one thing - church folk are a million times easier to handle than psychiatrists. The days when the church could burn you at the stake are long gone, but nowadays people with medical degrees wield awesome power. When I told a psychiatrist about my own religious views, I was put in a nuthouse and forced to take zombiefying drugs for four years!
Tip - avoid two things at all costs: African prisons, and African mental institutions.
I amglad to learn that wicca says we should not harm others or suppress their free will. That is my own view also. I am sometimes tempted to wish bad things on some people, but I resist that and try to turn it into a good wish instead.
About changing the world - do you know about Chaos Theory, and the Butterfly effect?

no, i don't... please explain.
btw: the best thing you can do for me is give me your best wishes. keep me in your mind and "pray" for me (for lack of a better word). this will all blow over sooner or later, but the way this last month has been going, it looks like it shall be the latter.

The Butterfly Effect: the weather of the Earth is a system that is very sensitive to small disturbances. This means that a butterly flapping its wings in, say, Portugal can cause a cyclone to erupt in Southeast Asia a few days or weeks later. That is to say, if the butterfly did not flap its wings, the cyclone wouldn't have happened.
Is Chaos Theory Physics? I thought it was mainly mathematics. Anyways you can use it to produce some interesting-looking computer graphics.
But I think the world is the same, a small person doing a small thing can in the end make a big difference. I also think that whether this difference is positive or negative depends very much on the attitude of the person doing the thing.
Alright, sea, I'm sending you strength and courage and good wishes and so on, hope it helps...
