The best way I have found to get to know this place is to click on other researchers names (which takes you to their home page) and see where they have been going and contributing to.

My name's Bistroist and I'm one of the Guide's Assistant Community Editors (ACE's), that Bald Bloke mentioned. We're a bunch of volunteers who roam this place trying to be as nice and helpful as possible, and meet and greet as many newcomers as we can.

For editing your home page there are basic instructions in the don't panic article.

Unfortunatly you can't host images directly on your page (yet) you have to store them off site and link to them.

Take a look at Archangel Zax's homepage, you'll be blown away like I was! Don't know his number, but if you go to the Party! forum {should be busiest forum on the front page} and click on his name, it'll take you straight there. I am going to request Angel status, or maybe you have to become a Saint first? Hmmmmmmm. I wonder what I could become the Patron saint of......

Sure can do! GOD-Almighty, well known party freak and world creator, have set up an organisation called the H2G2 Guardian Angels. The angels do much the same as we ACE's, i.e. fly around saying hi and generally being nice to people.

I don't think there's any difference between guardian angels and the various patron saints, but I'm neither, so who am I to know?

i'm incredibly flattered that you all liked my page... even tho it's in the middle of being rebuilt!

just to shed some light on the subject.. angeldom and sainthood are the self and same thing in GOD's little group... when you become an angel, you are given a facet of existence to keep watch over.... my job as Patron Saint of Drunken Indulgence is to make sure everyone stays nice and toasted...

the only difference among the saints (or angels, whichever you care to call us- we usually call ourselves the 'saints', since being angelic's a bit much to expect of us!)

saints and aces all greet new researchers, but aces also tend to keep an eye out for good material to add to the guide. saints just focus on helping out the people that seem to need it...

and we party... a lot...

I am just on my back to the Archangel's Party, from rained-out Wimbledon Zax, I am trying VERY hard to be angelic, but I'm glad I don't have to behave like an angel ALL the time Get thee to the Archangel's Party!
