Amnesia (the game)

Titania (gone for lunch)

This is the first horror game I've tried, and I've realized I'll have to make a map. So far, I haven't found an ingame one yet, but already I find myself moving in circles, ending up in rooms where I've been before (as far as I've managed to figure out, I seem to be the only being in there that actually lights candles - at least I hope I am).

I've never been much into horror, but this is a bit like those old-school b/w horror movies. No splashy, gory effects, but rather playing on atmosphere.

Free trial download available, easily found by googling.

From 'basic strategy' section of a help page:

'When you are in a room, find a cabinet and leave one of its doors open.
If ever you hear a monster approaching, you can quickly hide inside and
wait until the monster leaves the room.'

See, there's no way to fight the monsters - they hit you, you die (I think, so far I've managed to hide from them).

Arrggghhhh - invisible water monster - but as long as I don't look at it, I only get slow damage - but how the heck am I going to find a safe place without looking around and, thereby, inadvertendly looking at it?

I think it's time I start to do my own saves instead of relying on the automatic one... *girds her loins*
