*surfaces, once again only briefly*
You know, the other day my character was just about to dive into a river to swim across it to the other side.
The sky was cloudy, but with breaches in the clouds where a hazy sun tried to reach through.
This turned the water in the river a dull grey with streaks of silver.
And then it started raining.
And my character backed off back onto the shore just to enjoy the sight of those drops of water breaking that silvery surface.
*happy sigh*
No where before have I played a game where I so often stop just to admire the view (most of which are just simply awesome), or the nature, or indeed just watching raindrops.
One of my favourites is being up north, where they still get proper snow, mostly floating down gently with those big feathers of snow.
Makes me miss the winters passed - for the second time in a row, Stockholm didn't have a white Christmas. Instead, Father Winter chose to strike us with all his might just as spring was beginning - that is, in March - which is way too late for a proper winter!
Complete chaos, and hardly any spring to speak of - as soon as the snow melted away, it was already the beginning of summer...
What if the climate changes become so bad that the only places where wwe can experience *real* changes of season are in virtual worlds?

Sold? Oh no!
I discovered an interesting thing - my most recent character took over as leader of the Thieves Guild. Now, when I wear the grey hood, everyone seems to think I *am* the Grey Fox.
When I'm not wearing it, people will see my usual character.
If I do evil things while wearing the hood, it will be Grey Fox who gains infamy points, not my usual character.
So my latest character has now fully embraced the Assassins Guild - as Grey Fox.
Everyone in the local wing of the Dark Brotherhood were really nice to me (except one of the Khajeets), but now the leader has informed me that there is a traitor among them. Since he can't prove which one of them it is, he has ordered me to slay them - all of them... I'll miss being called 'dearest sister' by the nice ones!
And I can't refuse the order - one of the first things that the orc in the local wing told me was that it took him a week to clean the blood off his boots after he had watched the leader deal with a member who had refused an order!

Actually, make that a double
Ever seen the remains of a person that has been violently tortured to death by the Dark Hand?
Poor Lucien - and he wasn't even guilty!
These people are like vultures - or starving wolves - they'll attack anything they feel to be weaker!
Hmmm... good thing I'm not one of their targets, eh?
Can't say that it's a comforting thought either... the last mission I received from Lucien *in person* was to track the inflitrator - and by now, I think I know who it is - but I can't figure out a way to tell the rest of the guild - gaaaaaah!!!
It's one seriously disturbed, abnormal, maniacal and violent person though - that I suspect I'll have to fight very, very soon...

Just had a surreal moment - I watched random TV channels while having a snack right now, and suddenly I froze as I recognised a very familiar voice from Oblivion - on the telly!
I had to check it out on imdb.com - I wasn't hallucinating *phew*, the actor I had just heard on TV does indeed do one of the main charachters' voice in Oblivion!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462271/
Sean Bean as Martin Septim - oh, and the TV series I was watching was 'Sharpe'.

And here I was, already having something of a crush on Martin Septim - it won't make it easier that the *real* person behind his voice looks like this!

I thought he sounded a bit of alright, that Martin. I faniced Sean Bean since Lady Chatterly.

Sean Bean? Never!
As in 'Never mind', of course.

Oh boy, am I in trouble, because Lucien Lachance of the Assassins Guild is absolutely furious with me!
But... but... I just followed your orders? Or - didn't I?

Ha!
I'll have to take a print screen then of Lucius' mutilated body to show you what happens if you really p*ss off the Dark Hand...

I believe I've mentioned that I'm a sucker for pretty graphics - here are some examples of the many gorgeous views you come across in Oblvion:

Argh, not the sky! The sky in Oblivion scared me and I wouldn't look at it.

A bit good, I admit. Didn't frighten me, but perhaps I haven't studied the evidence yet. Yes, I'll allow you these, Titania! But who is Kristina, or should I guess?

Almost a year later...
I got fed up trying to play WoW again, and got fed up with online gardening, so decided to resort to playing Oblivion again, and guess what? Enough time has passed for me to be able to enjoy it again!

Here we go again... I bought a second copy of Oblivion online (since I still haven't gotten around to replacing my CD drive) and after downloading and installing it, I found some bugs had been fixed - and a new bug appeared.
There I was, trying to get some sleep in my one-room shack at the Waterfront (a neighbourhood inhabited by pickpockets and beggars) in the Imperial City when I was woken up by the Count of Skingrad who frowned at me and said 'Now, go!' and then left.
Made me jump, it did - bet you would jump too if you found a vampire standing by your bed in the middle of the night!
