recipe journal

Hi y’all

This is my recipe journal. My goal is to share recipes with my fellow researchers and have them share their favorites with me. So share your favorite recipes and comment on the ones that you have tried. I believe it was Thorin who said “If more of us valued food and cheer and song over horded gold, it would be a merrier world”. So lets make this a merrier world.

Please place the name of your recipe in the subject box and thank you for sharing

paradox of our time

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time, we have more degrees, but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, but more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink to much, smoke to much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry to quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life, we've added years to our life, not life to our years. We've been to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet our new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've split the atom, but not prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication.

These are times of fast food and slow digestion; tall men, and short character, steep profits, and shallow relationships. These are times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.

These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is so much in the show window and nothing in the stockroom; a time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose to either to share this insight; or just hit delete.

I need a 2nd Wife

I need a 2nd wife. I love the one I have, but she just isn't cut out to be a stay at home mom. So what I need is a 2nd wife to be the stay at home mom and then my 1st wife can go out and be a career woman. We would have a second income to play with, vacations, luxuries, and more people to help with the kids and housework. It would be great.

Hate Crimes

With all the discussion about hate crimes ("crimes aginst a person because of there race, sex, sexuality, or any other stupid reason") it accured to me, are not all crimes hate crimes????

If you love someone you want only the best for them. You would not steal from them or cause them harm. If you truely love someone you would not rape, assault, or murder them. Would You???

Therefore all crimes are hate crimes.
