almost in an attempt to keep my Paints article out of date, Morgan Burkhart former Richmond Roosters and Frontier League MVP became the second player in a month to make it to the bigs, after 3 games for Boston with 10 at bats Morgan had 6 hits. not bad to start with
Gator Mcbride is still on the disabled list at Trenton Thunder, hope he makes it back soon.

Well I've been here a few weeks now. still not sure what I think. had some good conversations with reasonable people and a couple of arguments, one guy in particular seems to think that free speech is ok as long as you either agree with him or stop arguing when he gets upset. ~grin~
By the way did you know that in the U.K that all acts passed by parliament have to be signed by the queen before they can become law.
just a little fact ~grin~
I have to admit I do have a tendency to try and get the last word in.
I've been enjoying reading many of the articles some of them are really funny, and others informative, many are food for thought and debate.
most of the people seem pretty friendly.
I guess we will see how it goes over time. the guide may disappear under it's own weight, just another talking shop filled with misinformation or it may become a useful and entertaining tool.

Paints Vs Otters
Posted Jun 19, 2000
Well Evansville made a visit to V.A stadium Friday the gam was rained out in the middle of the third so a double header was in the offing for Saturday night. The weather looked dubious so we called off and decided to have a nice quiet Satruday at home.
Bit of a shame as the game went ahead and Chillicothe won them both.
Sundays game was a repeat performance and with London failing to capitalise on their early form the Paints are now 4 games ahead of the rest after 16 games or so

Chillicothe Paints Vs Springfield Capitals
Posted Jun 15, 2000
After one night off the Paints went back into action at the V.A with a quiet victory over Springfield (Illinois). The final score was 4-1 to the paints, with Springfield's only run coming from a rapidly tiring Josh White in the 8th inning. Up until that point he had definitely been the player of the game, starting off delivering blistering strikes and even as he tired still managing to get the outs needed to give the Paints the game. It was only his own determination to try to finish the full 9 innings that cost him that one run and he received a delighted ovation from the appreciative crowd when he was finally taken off the mound. After loading the bases and then walking a run in.
He was replaced by Mike Buirley who made the last four outs neatly and efficiently, With the bases loaded on his arrival the pressure was on him to perform. In past years the Paints have had a habit of throwing away better leads than 4-1 and the crowd was beginning to get nervous.
The batting was less to write home about with only 6 hits including a 1 run Homer from apprentice slugger Jason Baker who seems to be in a competition with fellow newcomer Greg Strickland who have 22 hits and 14 runs apiece.
Meanwhile London destroyed Johnstown 7-1 in front of a disappointingly small crowd, this takes their winning streak to four.
Wednesdays game was a close one judging by the score of 7-6 to the Paints . All the paints getting on board at one time or another , with home runs from two of last years favorites, Mike Cervenak and Joe Colameco , who seem to be continuing this year as they ended last. The finally inning was a real nailbiter with the Paints giving away 3 runs to go 2 down and then scoring 3 of their own to take the win.

Chillcothe Paints
Posted Jun 12, 2000
Looks like the Paints had a good weekend in Johnstown, The Johnstown Johnnies (an unfortunate name) were consistent enough score 7 runs in each of the 3 games of the series Chillicothe less so, scoring 10 on Friday 18 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday the middle game looks like it was a real Corker with Baker heading the field for hits and runs with Joe Calameco scoring one run less but bringing in a fantastic 5 runs.
Johnstown must have had lots of trouble with their pitching as all the paints made hits. 7 in the 6th and 7 in the 8th inning.
Lets hope they can play like that against London later in the year.
