Chillcothe Paints
Posted Jun 12, 2000
Looks like the Paints had a good weekend in Johnstown, The Johnstown Johnnies (an unfortunate name) were consistent enough score 7 runs in each of the 3 games of the series Chillicothe less so, scoring 10 on Friday 18 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday the middle game looks like it was a real Corker with Baker heading the field for hits and runs with Joe Calameco scoring one run less but bringing in a fantastic 5 runs.
Johnstown must have had lots of trouble with their pitching as all the paints made hits. 7 in the 6th and 7 in the 8th inning.
Lets hope they can play like that agains London later in the year.

Chillicothe Paints

We went to the Paints game last night against Richmond Roosters what a wild ride, the Roosters got off to a great start with 3 runs in the first inning after their 4-0 loss the night before they were out for revenge, at it started on the first hitter when an error by the third base feilder allowed him a 2 base hit. the paints managed to get one back at the bottom and we all felt a little better, the second was scoreless with and Richmond made it 4-1 at the top of the third, things got quiet again for the next 3 as far as runs the paints continued there long running tradition of leaving men on base and a couple of very dodgy calls by the umpire incensed the crowd finally at the bottom of the 7th the Paints pulled another on back almost disabling the Richmond catcher in an attempt to bring in the 2nd he got up and dusted himself off got his wind back and got on with the inning the top of the 8th saw a new pitcher for the paints and things went a little awry but frodsham managed to claw his way back into the game only allowing 2 runs. the crowd was about ready to give up on the paints who have been notoriously slow finishers when with the bases loaded at the bottom of the 8th Richmond changed to a left handed pitcher in an attempt to thwart Greg Strickland whose hitting has only been outshone by his base running so far this year. the ploy didn't come off and the paint brought in five runs runs another new pitcher of a former Paint himself finally took the last out, the Roosters must have been a little deflated to lose a lead they had held since the first and failed to make any impact during the top of the ninth leaving the Paints to walk away with a not having to bat at all in that inning.
a wonderful night of baseball. Though they will miss having their old stars of last year the Paints look to have a decent all round team this year and it will make for a goo year for the fans, more next week.

Still getting to know this place a bit, may have got off on the wrong foot but I think I'll stick with my original set up for now.
Going to the Paint's game against Richmond Indiana tonight we won 4-0 last night though we weren't there to see it we, saw them win last Thursday against Canton Ohio (bit of a local rivalry there they are only about 150 miles away, distances take some getting used to here it is a big country with lots more spaces than places STS

Pike Lake state park Ohio
Posted Jun 6, 2000
My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend at the Pike Lake state park, they have small cabins for under fifty dollars a night and large deluxe for under seventy, we had a quiet weekend drove in to Waverly for dinner at Emmitt House restaurant.
During the day we read and watch people fish and took a short walk around the lake, just a pleasant weekend in a fairly quiet woodsy setting
